Hi there, how's it going? Hope you're having a great weekend!

Most definitely. Yeah, I can't wait to get walking now that the weather is better. I've already warned the hubs and the girls that I will be taking them on MANY walks. As for the food, yeah, it's tough, a real mind game. Keep your eye on the prize though. Yesterday I was feeling very mentally weak, so I got online and started looking up clothes I wanted to wear when I'm thinner. That cracked my brain into gear real fast. Keep it up, and keep me posted on how you are doing, too!

Yeah! I go in next Wednesday!!! I can't wait! I've lost 13 lbs already in the pre-op diet, and am so eager to get this ROLLING. How are things going with you?? What are your current stats? How are you feeling?

Good. I'm glad you are doing well! I did have some wine. It was delicious. I'm not a huge drinker but I like a good glass of moscato every now and again. I also went out this last weekend for a friends birthday and I will say that it takes far fewer drinks to be drunk than it did before and I am not sure to attribute that to the weight loss or from the sleeve. But I'm not complaining. Cheaper for me! Haha. I have noticed a lot more money in my pocket recently. Eating much less now I guess that is to be expected. Haha.

YAY YOU!!!!! So glad you found the courage to do what is best for yourself and your family. I'm well. Went through a 2 week stall that was heartbreaking, but dropping appropriately now. Lost 20 lbs. first month and want to lose about 10 lbs per month from here on out. Walk a mile daily and have started running part of that mile (1/10 of a mile yesterday). Eating "real" food now, but have found my tastes have changed. Kinda making life interesting. Please keep me informed on your progress as well. It is so emotionally fulfilling to think I may have played even a small part in such a life-changing event for you. Thank you.

Awesome to hear! Had all but the psych eval done today. I'm so ready to get this DONE. Keep me posted, you're an inspiration!
  9. Resting comfortably in my hospital bed. 1 day post op and still having a little gas pains, but they are slowly getting better.

Doing really well. Down 15 lbs in 2 weeks, which makes me smile. My incisions are healing a little slower than I would like, but that's probably due to my working too much. I am having some issues with body temperature (I'm constantly cold), but I've been told that happens sometimes. Still the best thing I have ever done for myself. I have very little hunger, in fact I have to remind myself to eat! So pleased, I have 3-4 coworkers now considering the procedure. Sorry the response was soooo delayed, been offline for about a week cuz work is NUTS! Please feel free to ask me anything and I will try to be a better friend with my responses.

I have new insurance, SMHP, so I'm hoping it goes through quickly. They seemed confident it wouldn't be a big deal, but we will see. It seems there are a lot of people who have gone the TJ route. I tried recommending it to my sister and she shot down the idea real fast. I'm so eager to just get it done - start this new life.

I'm in Sparks, and hopefully going through WBI for my surgery, looking to get this done in March. Wish you the best of luck!

Spammer is pissing me off too...already reported him. Looking at your pic, I see you have a fine young son. Do this for yourself so you can enjoy him for many years to come.

My name is Diana and I was recently sleeved. Saw your post about time off and thought I'd weigh (pun intended) in. I took off about 9 days because of the way my work schedule is set up. I am now day 5 and feel like I could easily return to work, if I chose. I think part of your decision is knowing how you heal and part has to be based on what type of work you do. I'm a nurse, so I walk a lot, but lift nothing (thank God for CNAs). Saw Lulu's post below and am gonna have to give her a bad time for calling me a "lady" LOL. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you have. If you feel the forum is too public for your concerns, let me know and I'll provide you with my personal phone number. Good Luck!!!

Oh the Irony.....

by bradearly on 02-03-2014 at 08:39 PM
So my superbowl Party yesterday was originally supposed to be my "last supper". Oh the irony to have to sit there and watch everyone eat my favorite foods while I'm on the pre - op diet. Oh and the beer too. I actually surprised myself with how good I felt and really wasn't going too crazy craving food. I r early didn't crave beer at all. I think it's all in the mindset. If I was just on a diet I would have been miserable. But since I'm having surgery nothing was an option.

Time off of work?

by bradearly on 01-20-2014 at 07:11 PM
So as of right now I'm planning on going back to work 5-6 days after surgery. I know this sounds crazy. And I'm thinking of maybe extending it. I have a flexible boss who says she will work with me. My job is very laid back in the sense that I sit at a computer screen, but it is for a 12 hour shift. I don't know if I'm bitting off more than I can chew. How did everyone feel after their surgery and how much time did everyone take off. A guy that I worked with returned after five days off

3 weeks to surgery today.... To eat anything and everything or start easing into eating less? What did you do?

by bradearly on 01-17-2014 at 05:36 PM
I have a Feb 7 surgery. What to do. Part of me wants to eat everything while I still can, but the other part is like this is how you got here.

Holy crap I can't believe I just paid my deposit and booked airfare for Feb 7 surgery

by bradearly on 01-14-2014 at 01:41 PM
I can't believe I going to do this...... Wow is it setting in that this is finally going to happen. I've been looking into surgery for a few years now, and the insurance company has been giving me the big run around, so I decided I would just do surgery in TJ with Dr Almanza. I have butterflys bad. Can't wait for surgery to be done.
