Hey guys! I had my surgery 2/7 and feel great! Prayer has been wonderful for me. I am sore and sometimes nauseous, but other than that, no issues at all. I hope you get better Aquajog! And hello LadyGreensleeves! I'm in Alabama as well and Dr. Weinstein in Mobile did mine.

I also had my surgery on 2/7/2014. Hope you have a better day tomorrow. I am in Alabama and my surgeon is Dr. George I. Crawford in Anniston, AL. Today has been okay. I am doing my best to try and stay hydrated. It is somewhat uncomfortable to swallow. I have learned that tiny sips go better than gulps. Good Luck to us!

Decision is made! Going with the sleeve .. Surgery date is Feb.21. I do feel comfortable with my choice ..now the wait to the date !

Well , today I make the big decision .. Sleeve or Bypass..
Did not really sleep so much running through my mind.
When I get nervous I clean . Kept so busy yesterday .. Gave the bathroom an over haul put up new shower curtain , made a curtain for the small window in there. Steam cleaned everything in sight furniture , drapes ,floors and rugs. Made my husband a cake and I did not even think about taking a bite.. Did some more reading on this site and others . Since I already have insurance approval for the gastric bypass . I know my caseworker will be directing me more in that direction but I feel curtain that unless the surgeon gives me a very good reason to have the bypass..I will have the sleeve ..like have my stomach and avoiding the absorption issues. Nervous but ready to do this .

About Aquajog

Sleeved or not sleeved:: I have had a gastric sleeve.

Biography:: I have gained and lost weight for so many years .Seems I may do well for a while than gain what I lost and more. Was hit by an car and than a fall down 14 stairs .. Everything healed in time but put on so much weight during that time. In my 60's and need to do something now. The more weight I gain the harder it is to be active . My insurance has already approved for the by pass.. Completed all their requirements but my case manager dropped the ball when finely completing all my needed paper work. I had my doctor's clearances , EKG an even a stress test and bone density which my doctors wanted . I had these all done in early July...finish my last of 3 dietitian appointments on Nov.3. My case manager said she would contact my insurance company these were done.... So I started to wait ,and wait and wait AND WAIT even longer .. Finally contacted case manager as I was getting inpatient..she said "I thought I would have heard something by now ." I called my insurance carrier the next day .. I was told ,"We just received information and request for approval from your doctor today ."
I was confused , surprised and upset..
So I get my approval in about a week for gastric bypass and my clearance expire. They say things happen for reason .. And I throw my new case manager curve as I have been doing more research .I am wondering If the sleeve is a better option .
