    Are you asking about an evaluation for surgery clearance? I went the self pay route and Dr Borland did not require a psych eval prior to surgery. I think that is more of an insurance requirement, but it probably is helpful. I did see a psychiatrist for a while after the birth of my last child 17 years ago for postpartum depression, but she moved to NO after Katrina so that wouldn't help you much. Try asking at your surgeon's office. They can probably recommend someone who will be experienced with weight loss issues. Wishing you all the best with your upcoming surgery!
