About Kellyjo140
- Sleeved or not sleeved:
- I have had a gastric sleeve.
- Biography:
- I think most of us here can relate. I had my surgery on Friday, Dec. 27, and I couldn't be happier. I spent the last 10 years (at least) tossing around surgery to help me to acheive my goals. But I had never had the opportunity (money) to go through with it. I have also dieted and struggled, and have gone through rounds of hating my life and decisions. I made it to 285, and back down to 165. I was a yo-yo. I attended multiple seminars, and the question I always asked was "if I lost all the weight I needed to lose, would surgery still be an option for me?" (since I know my habits and that I gain every pound plus a few with every diet.) I was 250+lbs in August 2012, and vowed to get below 200. My daughter started preschool, and I joined a gym. I went 4-5 times a week for 2.5 hours. (No joke, I didnt go home while my kiddo was at school from 8-11.) I had lost 65lbs by Christmas. I was so excited, but my eating habits still sucked. I got a part-time job, and al went to crap. I couldn't take my kid to the gym, so I would pay for daycare after preschool so I could go to the gym. I dropped down to 2-3 times a week, since daycare isn't cheap. I gained a little weight back, ok, a lot. I was at 218 a few weeks ago before my pre-op liquid diet. I made the decision to have the surgery a long time ago, but it wasnt until just recently that I had the funding for it. So, here I am, 3 days post-op, and here to find people that I can truly relate to. I have not told many people about this decision, only because I have been faced with the most ignorant responses from nay-sayers. (some of the biggest opponents are my own family and closest friends.) Anyhow, I am here to offer my support in return for the same. I have a few awesome recipes, and a great sense of humor that I am willing to share as well. Good luck to all of those on this similar journey. I wish you all the best. :)

So excited! On my way to the hospital and can't stop thinking about how REALLY ready I am for this! My check-in time is 12:30, surgery at 2. I did my pre-op diet, over Christmas, and survived!!! So this should be easy, right?!?! I made protein chocolate pudding to celebrate when I get home. Wish me luck today!!! And to everyone sleeved or on their journey there, good luck to you all!
