Thank you so much for your kind words. As for the Nioxin, I always poo hoo'd it until my hair started thinning yet AGAIN for no particular reason. Then I decided I wanted to do something about it. Most people use the system 1 or 2, but I felt that my hair was thinning so much I wanted to really do something about it so I went with the 4 (obviously my red isn't natural lol). When I lost hair the first time I cut it really short and hated it so I'm desperate not to have to do that again. Even though I say all of this I do know it'll grow back. Have a great day!
  2. Oh no, sorry to hear about your gallstones! What were your symptoms? Twice in the past 4 months I have had a stabbing pain right under my right rib cage, hope that wasn't anything serious.

I really have no idea what effect the gallstones might have on the process. I do know that for most people if you stay on plan the stalls eventually break because as the nutritionist implied you can be losing inches while the scale doesnt seem to be supporting it. then suddenly the numbers on the scale start catching up. Lots of reason for that including retention of water. But you need to consult with a doc regarding whether gallbladder problems may hinder weight loss. I hope it breaks for ya.

Hi. Yes I just held steady with exercising and eating the right foods and eventually it broke. I'm losing about 1/2lb a day now.

Thanks! It's been an awesome journey, but not without its "difficult times." Now that I'm on maintenance, it's a little harder. I still can't eat very much and listen to my stomach, however; I find that grazing or mindless eating has crept into my lifestyle. I also hate the winter and find that I'm not exercising like I used to; which was quite often. I did recently join a local college gym, and have my new fitbit; I just need to "jump start" myself again. I'm a walker, and can't wait for the nice weather. You're doing great, and I can tell you're very motivated. I have been using this site for over 3 years now as I joined pre-surgery. I find it's very helpful, and I've "met" lots of nice people. How are you finding your "journey" so far?

I was on a 4 wk full liquid diet after surgery and then slowly tried different foods. My nutritionist said that for the 4 wks following the liquid diet would be soft/pureed foods. I never actually pureed any of my foods because I am one of those weird texture people =-). I started with cheese and shaved deli meat and just very slowly progressed with different things. I cooked chicken in the crockpot and shredded it, ground turkey with spagetti sauce, scrambled egg beaters or whites with turkey sausage crumbles. What ever I know I can chew very well and make mush in my mouth before I swallow. Even at 3 mths I still stick to that rule. No pasta, bread, rice, sugar really either. Hope that helps!
  8. Hi, well I have searched my info packet and I don't see popcorn in it. However, I had a small bowl this week - week 9 for me. This week was the first week I was off pureed foods - so I figured it was probably safe. I try to stick with high protein snacks, but sometimes you just crave something salty and crunchy.
  9. Good morning...I was told the chews were a great way to get the calcium citrate into the system at 500 mg
at a time. The body can only process this amount at a time. Hope this helps.

Hey there -- If you're talking about the January 2014 group, I'm not seeing you as a member there, so I think you're good.

Thank you. It's dedication and commitment. I've had my share of struggles, but stay focused on the bottom line of the sacrifices I must make to be successful. I've learned that it's not about being skinny, but successful. But really, who am I kidding? We do this to get skinny right? Lol. The judgements of others shift from being over weight and frowned upon for it, to I'm jealous and judge you now because of confidence and being thin. I've realized that there is no pleasing all.... And the purpose was better health. If others want to judge for that, it's on them... Allow them to hate.

When was ur surgery? How are you? Tell me about ur successes and struggles. Anything I can help with? I'm an open book, and am a walking resource.

    Please stay in touch.

I love this forum. I am not a go to a group person. Weight Watchers in person drove me crazy. This on-line forum works great. Instant feedback, information and support is wonderful. And I feel like I am making some great friends.
Welcome to the group and keep in touch. Drop me a line about your progress even if you don't have questions or problems.

Trying something new!

by curvygalgettinsmaller on 02-26-2014 at 12:50 PM
One of the best parts of losing weight is finally feeling like I can go out, and try new things! I am so psyched to be going to a nice social event tonight - and opening of a bar/lounge/club that offers shuffleboard! At first, when my friend told me about it, I thought it was so odd (and for old people). Today, i said, "What the heck"! Put on some leather pants, and some shiny stuff - and I'm going out there!!

I would never had done this prior to the surgery. Can't wait
