  1. Thank you so much. I was getting a bit down. More water, more protein....that's my goal. I bought some oatmeal tonight, before the big storm keeps us in. Do yu have trouble getting the energy up to do exercise?

Only being able to eat a few bites is normal. Definitely go super slow. There seems to be a lot of people that can't tolerate simple foods at first, like a scrambled egg. I sure couldn't! Made me so sick. If you feel like you're doing better on the broth, then stick to that a little while longer. Maybe try to add in one new, very light food, maybe every 3 days. Just take it slow. It's certainly not a race. As long as you're getting about 60g of protein and 64oz of liquids, or at least as close as you can, then you're doing just fine. I don't always get all my protein everyday, and I doubt that I've ever gotten all 64oz in a day. But at the end of the day, you've just got to let it go. And try again the next day. Don't hold over whatever you feel like was a failure.
Having any type of surgery really wears out our bodies, but this one is especially hard. Do whatever you need to in order to take care of yourself.
    Keep your chin up.

So, how do you feel at two weeks post-op? Are finding things that you can tolerate pretty well? I'm apparently not smart enough to find someone else's ticker on here, so I can't see where you are in your progress.
  4. Dear Htiek, Glad to hear it! Not so easy for me...might b because they also took gallbladder and hiantal hernia.

Reached my first goal - even though I went on a cruise

by MinxCJS on 04-08-2014 at 05:30 PM
Yeah, reached my first goal...I am now below the dreaded 200 lb mark. Doesn't seem great, but it's been many, many years since I was here.
We went on a cruise and I lost 5 lbs! my hubby gained 8 lbs. hehehe

What was your diet pre surgery? My Dr hasn't started me on one yet.

I hope to have surgery in Dec and my D hasn't given me a presurgical diet. Is that normal? When do they usually begin? How are they?
