We are staying at the Hilton San Diego Airport/Harbor Island hotel the 7th. Harborveiew! I cannot wait! I haven't been to CA since I was a youngster. My hubby and I dated when I was 16 and we both lived in Hemet, CA. Twenty years later we met up again and have been married 3 1/2 years now.

What day r y'all flying home? We r staying in San Diego the night of the 7th and flying back home at 6:15 a.m. on the 8th.

Awesome! This is SO crazy. Live within 60 miles apart, never met, fly out the same flight, same surgery day. Wow what r the odds of that! Yeah, no cake. I had my last cake on my bday Saturday. My s/f jello is SO yummy.

I bought those isopure drinks, the ones that look like a Gatorade. YUK! I've tried two flavors so far and they went down the sink.

Yeah, I started mine today as well. I KNOW seems like it was just 58 days ago now it's here!

I'm way excited as well. I think I'm more nervous about flying out of Hays to Denver on a tiny plane than I am about the surgery (at least for now). lol Are u flying out of Hays or Denver? We leave Hays at (I think, I'll have to look again) 6:45 a.m. Tuesday.

We have 5 kids between the two of us. Hubby has two boys 20, and 18. I have two girls and a boy, 18 (girl), 16 (boy) and 11 (girl). My 16 and 11 yr olds live with their dad in MO. My 18 year old daughter lives here with us and she's gonna help me after surgery.

I was told that he typically does about 6 surgeries a day. It is very different not seeing the doctor several times before surgery I have to admit. :/ I figured as long as these people r able to make those youtube videos that it must be ok. Besides my husband I did end up telling my oldest daughter (18), my mom and my sister. NOBODY else will know though! So sorry to hear about your mom. I'm gonna go into private message now... I read your message and I felt like I was doing the talking for a minute... Strange...

Yes, I believe I am. I have had gastric surgery before. I was part of a weight loss study and I did real good. It was for the "vbloc" therapy, it was a 5 year study. They implanted a device inside just below my left rib and two leads went into the stomach. I ended up moving from MO to TX and had to drop out of the study so they took it back out. Of course I gained it ALL back. I had it in for just over a year.

I'm excited for this because it can't be removed and isn't a study. I'm not looking forward to all those awful gas pains from the gas they use again but the weight loss is beyond worth it to me!!! I've already started working out at a gym so I have that jumpstarted.

I've been researching this almost obsessively for several months now. I feel like a youtube stalker on the videos etc... hahaha I learned SO much more from people on this site though. I wasn't going to join it because I'm generally a very private person. I decided to though because I originally wasn't going to tell ANYONE but my husband about this and longed to have someone to talk to about it. My husbands poor ears have to be tired of hearing it all by now. He doesn't say that and he's happy for me, he just wants me safe is all. We r both nervous about medical in MX but I've read more good than bad.

All and all... I am SO READY for this!!!
