today marks the end of four weeks since the surgery. I'm starting my 5th week so I got on the scale today. My current weight is 205. when I started this journey I was at 252 lbs. in July. I did lose some weight before the surgery, but not enough to really realize a difference. I can't believe I'm down almost 50lbs. I'm not going to lie and say it has been easy. My surgeon says I'm challenge since I couldn't drink the protein shakes and the chewable vitamins gag me. They did tell me to try liquid
I'm entering my fourth week post sleeve and see my surgeon on Thursday. I'm excited to see how I've done. It has been a struggle. I have had a lot of pain on my left side and been a little depressed, but i'm glad I did the surgery. I see my pcp today to talk about the depression so everything is looking up. Can't wait to get on with rest of my life...
today marks the start of week 3 from my surgery. I'm not having as easy of time as I thought I would. I can't drink the protein shakes, but I can eat a little bit of bread and other soft items as long chew it up. All liquid items make me so sick. it was nice to chew a little bread to settle my tummy. I'm taking it really easy. the pain in left side seems to be getting better, but it is still there. I just wish I could jump forward about 2 months to when everything is settled down.
On this day last week 10/28/13, I was sitting in a hospital room after having the gastric sleeve done. It was something that I had been thinking about doing for about 2 years. My mom had full bypass about 6 or 7 years ago and has done amazing on it. I thought I knew what it would be like, but it has been harder then I thought it would be.
