Hello! I am 3 days away from my surgery! I am so exited, and by looking to profiles like yours, of people around my age, it just makes me feel nothing else but joy! You look so happy.

I feel like a million bucks. My doctor actually asked me to come in a speak at one of his presurgery meetings last week. It was odd because it seems like yesterday that I was sitting in there. Now I'm down 17lbs and loving every minute of it!! Hope you had a great easter

I'm afraid to step outside these days due to the nasty flu going around down here. Like forty people have died from it. Very scary. Losing slow is a good thing as you approach goal. The rapid loss is tough on a body. I had some dizziness during that phase which isn't uncommon, not to mention dehydration despite drinking a lot of fluids. I'm no longer losing and don't want to. My primary goal now is regaining lost muscle and improving tone while maintaining current weight. It's a fine line trying to figure out how much to eat, and how much to exercise to stabilize and get more toned. So far so good. I have stayed in a two pound range. And wife says she can see big difference in tone. Which is very cool. Overall, I think most people have done pretty well on here, though there have been some with limited success. But you weren't really that overweight to begin with and you look young, both of which were in your favor. In any case, I'm glad it worked out well. Hubby has to be very happy for you. And it's cool to be comfortable with yourself again. I know feel far more confident than before. I hope you have continued success.
  11. Hi, I read on another post about your stall - mine is going on 5 weeks - did you break through? If so, any tips are much appreciated!

I'm trying to find my regular routine now where I am stable. It's harder than I thought. My capacity has increased to the point where I could easily eat enough to gain so I am constantly adjusting what I eat and just how much exercise I do. I average an hour and a half of cardio/weights a day so on days I don't get enough calories I continue to lose and the occasional day where exercise less I seem to gain a tiny bit. So, it's quite a challenge trying to settle in because I don't want my weight to change in either direction, just want to continually improve tone. It's a great place to be, as opposed to looking in the mirror and hating the image projected back. From your pic, you look like you don't need to lose any more. It was funny when you got bummed about stalling a couple times that the whole time your body was still undergoing change but I don't think anyone could have convinced you that you were doing fine and the rest would come. I'm glad it has. It's very cool watching people change through pics. I wish you the best getting to your goal.

Hey there! You look AMAZING! I'm so happy for you. I'm doing "ok", but it's definitely my fault that I'm not doing better, as far as lbs lost. This time of year is my busiest and at work and I've allowed the craziness to let some bad eating slip in along with no exercising, so the weight loss has slowed down again. I'm getting back on track though and am going to just keep plugging away at it! : ) Take care and keep up the good work!!!

6 months post op

by SleevedRN on 04-23-2014 at 11:00 PM
Down 85lbs and doing great! I didn't even know I had that much to lose. My doctors goal was 160lbs as I am 5'8. I reached that 5 months post op and am down to 153! I feel great and haven't had any complications. I'm still doing daily protein shakes and I run regularly. I am so thankful for this surgery and to have my life back.

4 months post op...almost to goal.

by SleevedRN on 02-23-2014 at 11:11 PM
I have reached 4 months post op and am doing great. I am down 72 pounds since day of surgery. It's difficult for me to believe just 4 months ago I was the biggest I have ever been. This journey has been an emotional one.

I am still following a low carb, high protein diet. I have yet to eat a slice of bread since surgery and I don't crave bread when I see it. Yes there have been times(celebrations and parties) when I have had a slice of cake or a cookie, but they make me feel sick

3 Months Post Op: Stats and Updates

by SleevedRN on 01-22-2014 at 10:44 AM
Wow. I cannot believe it has already been three months since I had surgery. I'm not even sure where to start.

I am doing great. Work is easier, I'm not as tired, and I feel more comfortable in my own skin every day. I am running 4.5 miles and weight training about 3-4 times a week and I'm getting stronger and faster.

I continue to drink one protein shake a day and eat mostly protein for my meals. I have yet to have a slice of bread but I don't crave it any more. I

What are you eating? Here's what I am!

by SleevedRN on 12-28-2013 at 11:57 PM
Just curious to know what everyone is eating and what your portions are like post op. I'm beginning to question if I'm eating too much or if I'm doing everything in the wrong order.

Here's what I ate and did today:

Breakfast-2 pieces of turkey sausage and two egg beater servings
Vitamins
Ran 4 miles, did arm resistant training and some abs. Sat in steam room.
Lunch- 4 bacon strips and some cauliflower
Went to the mall and grocery store
