Thank you for the encouragement. I've been so down since yesterday. I'm going to try and do just that.

  6. Hi...read your blog entry today...Looks like you and I will be having our surgeries close together. I understand the aches and pains...Had hip replacement 3 months ago and knee surgery in December...I am really excited to get this band off and the sleeve done...I hope that your joints and all will get so much better that you might just learn to like exercising. I'm hoping that I can catch the exercise craze that all my children are in. My one son owns an boot camp exercise business and my daughter n law is a personal trainer. My other son runs 20 mile marathons. Since hip surgery I am finally able to just walk without a cane...Now I've started walking and riding a recumbent bike...Not long walks mind you, but at least walking...I'm 61 years old...I don't want to sit down while everyone else is living life around me. Good luck to you.
  7. One more insurance call left to do and then clinic approval, submission to insurance for approval and scheduled for surgery! Turn it Up!

Blade I read your post and wanted to say I'm sorry for the delay in your surgery. Its frustrating to say the least when we want something so badly but it hinges on someone else to get the paperwork in . I wish you well and please keep us posted

  14. I grew up in Texas, I'm going through menopause so I want to be somewhere near water. We are visiting several places before we make up our minds. Possibly Fl.
  15. Which warm climate are you hankering to move to? I've lived in AZ for 32 years now--sometimes I miss the green, but the desert certainly has its own beauty. The weather is certainly a big plus--it's the 11 Nov and our windows are all open and my husband is wearing shorts and a t-shirt--it does get cold at night though.

About BladeFox
Sleeved or not sleeved:
I have had a gastric sleeve.
Biography:
I am an education administrator that has never been fond of yo-yo dieting. I have been on about three diets and the one that was the most successful was Atkins where I lost 80 lbs and kept it off for about three-and-a-half years...until my Mother passed away, then I became this emotional wreck where food was the only thing that helped ease the pain. Four year later I decided that I would try another diet, the HCG plan and I lost 87 lbs, however, it was harder to keep off. The past year has been reflective where I decided that what I really need is something that could prevent me from overeating. I am not so much a bad eater than a seconds, third, fourths eater which is my downfall. The sleeve from what I have researched is the answer and the tool. The goal is to get off the meds, live a bountiful and happy long life with my family.

You Must Be Inventive!

by BladeFox on 03-26-2014 at 10:43 AM
I am six day out of surgery and it has been five days that I have had to manage my vitamin, water, and food intake, yet, I have not been hungry. What I have been is bored so now I am trying to be inventive with my sad full-liquid items

This morning I took my homemade chicken broth and was pondering what could I make that would keep me on the full-liquid and would satisfy my taste buds. So...I decided to boil some broth and use that in place of water for my cream of wheat. YUM

What Does a Food Funeral Look Like?

by BladeFox on 03-06-2014 at 01:59 PM
Lately, I have been reading how people are having serious food funerals. I have had a few but not on the GREAT scale. It is more like I want to eat some enchaladas with spanish rice, so I eat about three of them and a bowl of spanish rice. Then I want some ice cream, so I will go to DQ and get a small cone. Next, I want a Gyro, so I go and get one OR I want something sweet, so I will go and get a sticky pecan bun from Starbucks. I think my food funerals are minimal because it's not all day

Interesting How Family Works

by BladeFox on 03-02-2014 at 11:46 AM
Yesterday, was my husband's birthday so we went to The Original Pancake House, his favorite place to celebrate. Over breakfast I made a family announcement and shared with our teens that my surgery is real and planned for Wednesday, March 19. So they began to ask tons of questions and they both want to take off from school to support me, which I am fine with. However, I watched my daughter get a bit sad when talking about it and realized that she had greater concerns about this surgery. She

I Must Admit Something

by BladeFox on 02-24-2014 at 08:31 PM
So, I had been calm until this week and WOW how I have realized that I have little patience with my teens, everything is making me somewhat annoyed and it feels like the days are super long leading up to GO LIVE! I think I am nervous and antsy. I never thought I would say that. I need to process with my husband what is getting ready to happen or someone. My husband is supportive but doesn't like to talk about it much and I need to talk. I think it is his way of dealing with a major surgery

Trying to Keep Up

by BladeFox on 02-10-2014 at 12:55 PM
Admittantly, my husband is one of the main reasons why I need to lose this weight. This is new because before him my list was and is that I need to lose weight because my knees creak and hurt from sitting to standing and my hips hurt from moving and I'm on an anti depressant, and two blood pressure meds, PLUS, diabetes and heart desease runs in our family. However, over the past couple of years I have added the need to keep up with my husband.

See, my husband has been running for
