Gas bubbles

I am 16 months after surgery. Every single time I eat, I get these gas bubbles that come up my throat. They aren't really burps and I can do nothing to prevent them. They are also quite loud and has caused some embarrassment. I developed heart burn after surgery and started taking a pill every morning to prevent. When I mentioned the bubbles to my doctor, he told me to just take 2 pills a day and that should prevent them but it hasn't. I am extremely anxious to get rid if these. Anyone have
