  1. A couple of months ago I posted that I was having digestive juices coming back up after I ate. I actually had my sleeve about six years ago. After many tests, I have a hiatel hernia and am having surgery Thursday to correct it. My stomach was still small and everything was normal regarding my digestion and the food moving through my body. My surgeon feels that this will alleviate my problem. If it doesn't, then I will be a candidate for the gastric bypass. I am only thinking positive thoughts that this procedure will be the fix I need. So ready to have my life back.
  2. I had the sleeve done 5 1/2 years ago. About 1 1/2 years ago, I started having issues when I eat. I definitely have not stretched my stomach. I get along well eating breakfast, lunch is debatable and then supper is a whole new ballgame. Even though I don't eat much, I get like phlegm built up in my stomach and then I throw that up. Then I am pretty much ok after that. The problem is that if I go out to eat, 75% of my food goes home in a takeout box. But I soon have to excuse myself and go to the bathroom to throw up this phlegm. My family knows what is going on and a few of my closest friends but I am getting where I don't want to eat supper and sometimes lunch. I just had my five year follow up and my doctor said he didn't know why it was happening. Again, I hardly eat so I definitely haven't stretched out my stomach. Anyone else have this issue.
  3. Good morning. I have been away from this site for a long time and I realize how much I miss you guys. Even though I have not met my goal weight I still met the goal of having a healthy BMI which is the most important thing to do. I am healthier, my doctor is pleased, my cholesterol is normal now, and my self-esteem rocks!. Because of my age my skin is a little saggy but it better to be a little saggy than bloated with fat. I can cover up the sagginess. After all, I don't plan to wear a bikini. But I do love being able to wear skinny jeans and look fabulous. I love trying on clothes and having people notice how great I look. (You just don't want to see me naked. lol) I am so happy and I don't regret it. Will I ever get down to goal weight. Hopefully. But I am not going to beat myself up because I didn't get all the way down to where I wanted to go. But my main goal was to be healthier and feel good about myself and I met those goals. So having the surgery was a huge SUCCESS for me. I am so thankful to Dr. Bruce for his expertise and support. He is changing lives for the better. He truly cares about his patients ands is one in a million. For him it is a mission, not just a job. I will forever be thankful that God placed him into my life. And I owe all the glory to God for my new found life. If you are having second thoughts, don't. Do it for yourself. You're worth it.

Wow 7 months out, and you are doing great.... 52 pounds, that is great.. Yes, your doing great, and you have lost inches, to boot, are you exercising as well.

I just joined a health club that has a amazing water aerobics class, they never stop moving the whole hour... class. love, 3 time a week plus another class called Silver Sneakers where we use 3 lb.weights, it is great as well just been going a week and 1/2... going to keep on keeping on.

Your amazing and do not get discouraged, this is whole way of life, and it is working, and your buying new clothes is showing you it is much better than not being able to get into a darn thing and being so depressed as i was. this is my tool and i'm taking care of it. and just loving life now. Congratulations, Mimi4.

    love you post,

Skinny jeans

by Mimi4 on 03-28-2014 at 09:58 AM
My weight loss has slowed way down and I know why. I am eating things I shouldn't. The amount I eat is still small though. I do think I am losing inches. I accidentally bought REAL skinny jeans, the ones with the tiny leg at your calf's and ankles. I put them on and I was very surprised. I looked pretty good in them. I wore them to a church function and I heard that everyone was talking about how good I looked. They had not realized that I had lost that much weight. I decided I needed to

How do you keep losing?

by Mimi4 on 03-21-2014 at 10:27 AM
I had my surgery 9/30/2013 and have lost 50 pounds. I have 32 pounds left to be at my goal. Any suggestions how to start losing again? I usually go weeks without losing then all of a sudden I will drop 10 pounds one day at a time. Then the process starts all over. No loss, then 1-1 1/2 months later I will drop more. Anyone have this happen to them? What did you do to make the weight loss ongoing. I really want to get to my goal weight this year and I believe I can get the 32 pounds off.

Extra skin

by Mimi4 on 03-17-2014 at 12:36 PM
Does exercise help with the extra skin? Mine is not bad because I have only lost 52 pounds. But if I could encourage it to tighten a little that would be great. My other problem is my age: 60.

Soooo Happy! 4 months post-op

by Mimi4 on 01-30-2014 at 11:08 AM
I weighed today and I have lost 48 pounds. I am 34 pounds from my goal weight. I am losing about -1-2 pounds a week which is actually a healthy way to lose it. I feel great and am so glad I had the surgery. What a difference it has made in my life. I love to shop for clothes and that I have gone from a size 18 pants to a 10. I even squeezed into a size 8 before Christmas. The first 4-5 weeks was rough because I had a hiatel hernia repaired, but after that part healed things have been much

3 month follow-up

by Mimi4 on 01-16-2014 at 10:42 AM
I saw my surgeon Tuesday and he was pleased with my 43 pound loss. Of course, I was too. If I could just get off this stall. My school is getting ready to start a fitness program after school and I can't wait to join in and try to drop a few more pounds. I am happy to have dropped the 43 and kept it off. A size 10 feels mighty good. Everyone just stay true to yourself and keep your goal in mind. You will succeed.
