Ann, thanks for the note! I did see your writers workshop -- I have several friends who are published authors and I am always astonished at their creativity and concepts. I write poetry, but seldom share.

I think we are through with tests; I was a bit discombobulated that while its all off whack, the endocrinologist didn't think it was causing my tiredness. So went back to my journals, and investigate when it started to go south, so to speak. I've cut my Effexor XR in half, and will advice my GP when I see her next week (yes, she knows I am competent to titrate dosages on my own) what I've done. And the exhaustion is lifting. Sheesh.

Have an IV Reclast set up for September along with some scopes, so just basic junk. Feeling better in general with the dosage change - not sure it matters whether the lesser dose is needed due to weight loss or age, just glad to feel a bit more like me!

Our curse continues - 2 deaths, my daughter gave herself a concussion during their move, husband snapped a foot ligament and youngest threw herself into a nasty relationship and changed jobs. So life is normal!

You are so gorgeous! Repenting of my short hair...Annie

Hey Miss Ann, just saying hello. Have been diagnosed withed hyperparathyroidism and all tests are back - not sure where we'll go for treatment. Just want to get over the ridiculous fatigue that's going with it. Family coming from the West Coast for 2 weeks -- there is a reason I live across the country from them, lol. But I can do this! I just won't let myself be turned back into 7 year old!

Kids are well, dogs are well, husband is well. Life is very good. Weight pretty stable, all things considered and occasional issues with toad froth, but more random than eating fast. Love you to the moon, crazy lady! You are so lovely inside and out. (I do wish I hadn't realized when you talked about nips and tucks that I do indeed have a turkey wattle -- thank God for bifocals!)

    Safe travels.
    Annie

Hi, Ann. I think some here would like to know about what is contained in this article, but I don't know that it is my place to post it since I'm not sleeved and might be perceived as biased, which is truly not the case. Your call as to whether to wade into potential controversy and share the info. Be well.

Thank you for the welcome, Ann! I'm nervous -- but excited to have found a place with people who have had many experiences.

Just checking in to say hello! Finally over 8 weeks of antibiotics and sinusitis. And the holidays are done. They were great. We're in SC at the beach for a couple of weeks -- not being crazy, but truly enjoying everything in moderation. Lord, do I sound mature or what?

Best to you for a wonderfully memorable year ahead! You are a peach!

    Thanks!
  9. Good to be busy! I have 24/7 vertigo and am usually careful, but I do know to roll when I fall, lol. I am so much healthier than I was at 55 -- so grateful! We've been influxed with kids/grandkids/company etc. And later I'm helping a friend trim a wig as she is going on a mission trip to Peru. She's 70 and gorgeous! She had the gastric bypass, and I met her at the drs., but we go to the same church, as it turns out, and she lives near my BFF. Serendipity.

    Love ya, you crazy lady!
  10. Hey lady bug. System locked me out, password resets didn't work. Admins didn't respond. So I am under AnnieStillG. Sheesh!

Had an IV infusion for osteo this week; managed to fall in the bathroom but thank goodness only bruises. Life!

Hope you are doing well! Miss your pithy self!

Ann, this is Lee. I have 2 questions:
About a week ago there was a lady who started a thread about absolutely no sugar. Somehow my avatar showed up on 3 postings I did not write. I would like to know how this could happen.
Also, could you find the YouTube video called :
The Break-Rezoom Merry-Go-Round and post it on the Bright Line Eating thread I started? You are the only person I know who could absolutely do it. I have tried several times in various ways. I would at least like the program to be understood.
    Thanks, Ann!
P.S. I would like to post pictures of myself, but I don't like the way I look in photos anymore. The weight loss has made my face drop and I'm considering a lift. I want to lose a tiny bit and maintain it for a while before I do.

5 Months Post-Op - Down 68 Pounds and New NSVs

by Ann2 on 01-18-2015 at 08:55 AM
After 5 months post-op, this morning I weighed 167.4 pounds. I'm down from 235.6 (which I weighed 2-1/2 months prior to surgery). I've lost 68.2 pounds total (which includes losses from my own pre-op diet and the doc's pre-op diet) and 48.6 pounds since surgery on August 18, 2014.

Weight loss this month slowed to 7 pounds from monthly losses that have averaged 10.5 pounds. Toward the end of Month Four my bariatric P.A. urged me to start raising my daily cals from 800 toward 1,000,

Four Months Post-op and Down 61.4 Pounds Total

by Ann2 on 12-18-2014 at 12:29 PM
Today is exactly 4 months post-op for me. Since many people want to hear about others' experiences, here are my results so far (all in pounds):

At the first surgeon consultation I weighed 235.6
After my own two-month diet I was down 11.6
After my surgeon's two-week pre-op diet, down another 8.0
1 month post-op, down another 10.4
2 month post-op, down another 11.8
3 months post-op, down another 8.8
4 months post-op, down another 10.4

Two Months Post-Op -- Down 24 Lbs. Post-Op, Down 42 Lbs. Total

by Ann2 on 10-18-2014 at 07:23 AM
And that headline pretty much says it all.

Very, very happy with how it's going. Had a super good VSG surgery and an easy-peasy recovery.

Four weeks post-op, I got a bonus surgery -- gallbladder was removed.

Was hitting protein targets (60-80 grams) by Day Five. Haven't thrown up once. Am now able to drink water easily, almost like pre-op. Energy is coming back strong. Clothes sizes are down from 20 to 16. Looking much cuter.
