You're such a peach, Ann. So positive, happy, and enthusiastic! You're a new you - pretty cool, huh? Never too old to learn, grow, try new things - you're a stellar example of that.

I still geek out over the bones. My shoulders, ribs, back, wrists, hips - hell, I'm even feeling my seat bones now (and I've got a plump truck if you know what I mean). In a size 8, 29% body fat, and my bloodwork is sheer perfection...like panty hose. What's also cool is that I'm a steady 1lb/week these days. I like that!

That's really good to hear. I am getting there I had my 2 week post-op check-up yesterday. Happy with the progress, except one drain has to stay.
I will have another appointment in a week, hopefully that will be when I get it taken out. What's new with you?

Hi, Ann. I have, very much, enjoyed reading your posts and personal journey. You are such an inspiration and encouragement here!

Thanks we are all about the clean eating and being athletic! First full marathon quickly approaching in January! We never want to go back to where we were. How's everything with you?

I missed the pic??? Dang it!!! Was just reading your one year out post and like everyone else, found it very encouraging. I am curious what your definition is for snacks as opposed to grazing. I eat every 2 hours or so and maintain about 600-800 calories a day at this point out (6weeks). I'm loosing slowly but am satisfied with loosing period. How did you slowly increase your calories? Quantity? Frequency? And if you don't mind my asking, did you experience any acid issues? I thought I was experiencing hunger and was told by the nutritionist it is most likely acid reflux, it just doesn't feel like it did previously. Anyway, thanks for the post and posts) and honest support you provide on here.

<3 missed the pictures!!!!!! maybe next year?
  11. I have a question for you Miss Ann if you don't mind. What did you do to stop your night time nibbling? It's my weakest moments...in front of TV after my shower. I've been grabbing a bottle of water out of the fridge and putting the sugar free flavor packets in it. I find that I only like half of the packet because a whole one is too sweet. Then I want a yogurt, then I want something else. I've stopped the chips, and bread for a while now....I want to get to the place where I don't snack on anything at all. If I'm busy during the day, I can go almost all day with no food. I know that's not what I'm supposed to do. I really just forget until I feel weak in the knees. Then I think Oh crap! Suppose to eat there chick! Then I want to just grab something fast and easy like Tuna and five club crackers. I'm using organic Stevia now for sweetener. I tried foods without sweetener...rather not eat it if it ain't sweet...I admire your posts. After four years I'm still fighting the battle of the bulge. I realize now that my journey won't end nail I'm in the grave. Just have to embrace me as I am and keep on trying to improve myself.

Thank you. It has been hard work to get where I am. I struggle everyday. 3 weeks to go . I am in panic mode. Yesterday.. was not good. I grabbed a book and a box of weight watchers chocolates and nearly ate the entire box. What was I thinking??! I know it is stress, and going back to the old habit of binge eating when I feel out of control of the things going on around me. Today was better. I am at 96grams of protein and a little over 800 calories, which leaves room for a snack later. Yogurt or something. I am so close to reaching that 200 pound mark, I can taste it. No pun intended I just needed a good kick in the pants. The hubby said " I don't know why you are so upset with what you are eating, unless you're eating stuff and hiding it from me about it, because you are doing so great." DOH! Guilty!! Ha ha ha. I kept my little secret. Oh well. I will have to keep you updated, I will send a PM next time. My pre op appointment is in a week. I have been filling out all the paperwork and getting all that stuff ready. I feel like it is all a blur. I don't think I am brave, I am excited, but I am a big chicken.

5 Months Post-Op - Down 68 Pounds and New NSVs

by Ann2 on 01-18-2015 at 08:55 AM
After 5 months post-op, this morning I weighed 167.4 pounds. I'm down from 235.6 (which I weighed 2-1/2 months prior to surgery). I've lost 68.2 pounds total (which includes losses from my own pre-op diet and the doc's pre-op diet) and 48.6 pounds since surgery on August 18, 2014.

Weight loss this month slowed to 7 pounds from monthly losses that have averaged 10.5 pounds. Toward the end of Month Four my bariatric P.A. urged me to start raising my daily cals from 800 toward 1,000,

Four Months Post-op and Down 61.4 Pounds Total

by Ann2 on 12-18-2014 at 12:29 PM
Today is exactly 4 months post-op for me. Since many people want to hear about others' experiences, here are my results so far (all in pounds):

At the first surgeon consultation I weighed 235.6
After my own two-month diet I was down 11.6
After my surgeon's two-week pre-op diet, down another 8.0
1 month post-op, down another 10.4
2 month post-op, down another 11.8
3 months post-op, down another 8.8
4 months post-op, down another 10.4

Two Months Post-Op -- Down 24 Lbs. Post-Op, Down 42 Lbs. Total

by Ann2 on 10-18-2014 at 07:23 AM
And that headline pretty much says it all.

Very, very happy with how it's going. Had a super good VSG surgery and an easy-peasy recovery.

Four weeks post-op, I got a bonus surgery -- gallbladder was removed.

Was hitting protein targets (60-80 grams) by Day Five. Haven't thrown up once. Am now able to drink water easily, almost like pre-op. Energy is coming back strong. Clothes sizes are down from 20 to 16. Looking much cuter.
