Praying for the best outcome on your day!
  2. Today is the day!!! I can't believe it has finally gotten here! I am very excited...and a little nervous, but that is to be expected I'm sure. I hope to come back in a few days and be able to tell you all good things
  3. I worry about the eating slow thing because I have always been a fast eater...which did not help with the weight issue. I should probably start trying to be more conscious of that now so it's not so hard when it becomes necessary to do all the time. I should probably start trying out protein shakes also. But some people have said that their tastes weren't the same after. Did your change? It's so hard to judge from other people though because everyone seems so different. I know the only way to find out is to have it done and see what does and doesn't work for me. I am really ready to have it done but I have to finish all these appointments first. I am going on Thursday for the Doppler test to check my leg circulation or whatever and I'm hoping that I see the nurse then to see what she things will happen after all my appointments are over. She said that I could call her anytime, but then I feel like a pain. I guess if I need to know something badly enough I will call her. I hope you continue to do well and feel better everyday!

I don't mind the questions... I was the same way preop the solids did not bother me in the beginning... But if went extremely slow... I mean I measured 1 oz and even though could have eaten more I didn't. I did that for a few days and then the one time I thought I could have more I overate... Probably like 3oz of tuna or I set too fast or both... But it hurt. It felt like it was stuck and I tried to burp the gas away but that didn't help. It lasted a few hours too honestly I deserved it and I took it as a painful reminder that I can not eat the way I used to which is the exact reason I had the surgery in the first place! I do still drink protein shakes. Premier protein chocolate from Costco is my fav... But I don't have tpeveryday. I use them to take along in the car if I am running a lot of errands. I was worried about the holidays too... But after reading other's posts I realize they are nit about the food but about the family. So that's what I plan in reminding myself on thanksgiving when I can only eat 4 oz and the family is going back for seconds and then desserts

Thank you for checking in I am recovering... Slowly but surely. The pain is better everyday but still there. I added softs this weekend which was nice relief from the jello and broth. The biggest problem now is the exhaustion after just a small amount of exertion. I go back to work in 1 week and am on my feet all day so I am a little worried. Trying to get the water in which is so hard bc I have never been a water drinker. But overall I do feel better everyday . How are you?

Let me know what you think if you check it out!
  7. Thank you for the message OAM! I am worried about the acid problem as well because I find that when I'm eating less my GERD bothers me more and I seem to have a lot more acid, to the point that I feel like I'm going to throw up. I hate it! And the way that I would try to soothe it was to eat. So now that I see you tried the same thing and it didn't work for you, I will know better. What is PPI? Sorry, I'm trying to get used to the lingo. I just figured out that NUT is nutritionist! LOL! Are you taking any acid reducers? Is anything helping with the acid? And I know what you mean about the protein. I'm not even sure what good sources of protein there are! I did get a message from another member about a website that is all recipes of protein friendly foods and it was made by a chef who had the surgery! I will get you that website and you can check it out. I haven't checked it out yet as I just found out about it this morning, but I am planning on checking it out soon and I hope it can be of help to you as well!

I am doing pretty good. I wish the weight was coming off a little faster. I had problems with acid the first six or seven weeks, and mistook it for huger pains. I may have been eating more at night (when it was worse), so that may have been my problem. My doc upped my PPI to a second dose late afternoon and that has changed everything around for me. For some reason my favorite meal (steak), now grosses me out, and I am having trouble finding a good protein (in food form) that works for me. I have never been a water drinker, so I am struggling a little with that as well. But definitely do no regret my surgery! I felt bad about the first welcome you got. I don't think you deserved that. I would have wondered the same thing If I had seen it, and I have no idea why a PM offended her. It seems you asked a legitimate question, not demanded she defend her decision. Glad you just moved on. There is a wealth of knowledge in these forums!
  9. Thank you OAM!!!
  10. 2 weeks?? That's great!!! I have met with my doctor, nurse, and nutritionist. I have to go to all the doctors yet in the preapproval process. Then I will meet with the doctor and nurse again and see what we decide. I am still not decided yet if I am ready to go through with it or not. I wish you luck on your journey and I can't wait to see how you do!

Less than 2 weeks for me!! Getting excited! Some people are more of an open book than others... Looks like you have a surgeon, where are you in the process?
  13. Thank you!!! I would ask if you have had the surgery already but I found that it's easier to just go to your profile and read for myself.

About luvthoztitans
Sleeved or not sleeved:
I have had a gastric sleeve.
Biography:
I have recently started the "work up" process for the Gastric Sleeve surgery. I have so many questions and concerns and I'm not even sure where to start. I have been reading other people's stories and questions and it has been helpful, very helpful...but I'm still so confused. I have not committed to the surgery at this point. I figure by the time I go through all the before stuff I'll have had enough time to ask all the questions I have and hopefully be confident in whatever I choose. I am very open to anyone's comments and suggestions and accept them with open arms! Thank you!

First Post Op Visit

by luvthoztitans on 03-28-2014 at 10:22 AM
I had my first post op visit yesterday. I got my b12 shot, my staples removed and weighed. It was better than I had expected, but I also realize that I have basically been starving for three weeks! Of course I should lose something! But anyway, my starting weight was 266 two weeks before the surgery. The day of the surgery I was 255 and yesterday u was 247. I am extremely happy about everything so far but I am also allowed to add in puréed foods now. So we will see what happens at the next

One week out...why am I still getting jabs in my gut?

by luvthoztitans on 03-26-2014 at 05:08 PM
So I am one week out today. I had some problems with nausea and dehydration post op and was in for four days instead of three. I don't know what in the world is going on now, but every time I swallow something, cold, warm, hot, I get a sharp jabbing pain in my stomach!! It is keeping me from really putting anything in my mouth. And I also have a lot of gurgling and rumbling going on. Is this all normal? I go for my check up tomorrow, so I will talk to the doc about it, but I'm also looking
