How have you been? I have not been on this forum for some time. I even forgot my sign in information. I gained a little back from poor choices of food, but have just gotten back on the wagon: diet, exercise, and walking (a week ago) and have already lost 5 lbs. I need to lose another 15 just to be back where I was. I lost my job and things just went downhill, but now I am determined to reach my goal. Let me know what your 2 years have been like.

Hi! I know what you mean. This time of year is terrible at work for me too. My loss has also slowed down. I haven't been able to hit the gym as much and I'm feeling it. It's a journey, though. We can do this!

Thanks for writing do keep in touch Love Hev

Wow, you have done great. I had my surgery about a month before you did and have lost half of what you have lost. Trying to get back on track so I can start to lose again.

I'm so glad you told me because I must admit every time I go in there to get soup I look longingly at the grilled cheese and wonder....could I? Glad to know I should not! Sorry you were uncomfortable, but I guess that is how we learn our limits. =)

Doing good. I will start real food next week (all 4 oz of it). My loss slowed as soon as I started on the soft foods. But just hang in there and we will both keep losing. I am not a runner, but I try to do fast walks. Keep up the great success! My scale is somewhat deceiving because I weighed 284 in August when I first met with Dr. Kim, so a lot of my loss was before I started my pre-op diet. I was at 261 on surgery day.

My loss has definitely slowed as well. I dropped a few pounds over night just randomly. I'm not eating many carbs and I'm running. I haven't done anything extraordinary. Just sticking to the plan and running. I hope the loss speeds back up!

I am a Christian wife and mother of 3. I am very active in my church and enjoy spending time with my family. Being overweight is something I've battled for the majority of my adult life. So many times I've worked so hard to lose 20-30+ lbs, only to turn around and gain it all back and then some. The sleeve, I'm doing for me! I want to not only be around for when my grandkids come, but be able to enjoy them as well. :-)

6 Mos Post Op

by Readytobethin@51 on 04-24-2014 at 09:30 PM
Been awhile since I've posted, but thought I'd do quick update. For a soon to be 52 yr old, I would say I'm doing ok, not great as far as lbs lost, but ok. Part of it is because I'm very inconsistent with my exercise, so shame on me. I've been in a 2 mos plateau, that I've finally broken with some good old fashioned healthy eating! LOL, you can't get sleeved and eat the same Ole crap and expect the lbs to drop off just because your volume of intake is less! Lesson learned! I've lost almost

2 Mos. Post Op - 33 lbs. Gone

by Readytobethin@51 on 12-22-2013 at 10:14 AM
Two months ago today I received my sleeve. I have had little to no complications, everything has healed nicely and I'm 33 lbs lighter!

I would have to say the hardest thing for me was adjusting to not drinking liquids while eating, but at this stage I'm pretty much used to it. Biggest no - no made, was trying to eat a half of grilled cheese sandwich, my sleeve was not happy with it. I was in pain for over an hour. Otherwise I have been truly fortunate, I have not thrown

One month Post-Op

by Readytobethin@51 on 11-21-2013 at 09:13 PM
Tomorrow will be one month since I was sleeved and I feel amazing! I'm down almost 30 lbs and it feels Great! I'm still on soft foods, which is fine, there are plenty of choices for me. I'm still drinking 2 Premiere 30 gram Protein shakes a day, I love them and they're great for on the go.

I see my doctor Weds. of next week and will start on a full regular diet at that time. I've already decided in my mind what I'm going to allow myself for Thanksgiving, and I fully intend to

3 Weeks Post-Op

by Readytobethin@51 on 11-13-2013 at 06:36 PM
As of Tuesday, I'm 3 weeks out from getting sleeved. Hardest thing thus far? Reminding myself to slow down when I'm eating! I'm still on soft stuff, but cottage cheese still hurts if you eat it too quickly! I'm not eating fast cause I'm starving, it's just that I'm always in a rush, but slow & steady is what I've got to remember.

Otherwise, I'm doing very well. If it wasn't for my capacity level being less in the feeling of being full, I wouldn't believe that I was even
