How are you doing? How are you feeling.. I know i was nervous but soon you will be on your journey.. and i tell you the transformation is amazing.. Let me know how you do next week. I have a follow up hospital appointment on the day you have your surgery. I will keep you in my thoughts and please write and let me know as soon as you are able when you wake up...dont forget to walk a few hours after surgery and when you are allowed to drink make sure you sip sip sip and eventually in a few weeks you will be able to drink water like you used too. but to begin with you have to go very carefully because you have a staple line to allow to heal. Good luck with everything i have no regrets what so ever...take care Love Hev

Slider foods are foods that are usually HIGH in Carbohydrates and go down really really easy. The do not keep you feeling full for long so you are looking for something more to eat faster then you should be. This is not something that you will have to worry about for the first couple of months but once you start eating full foods you need to be aware of them. It is something you should definately speak to your NUT about what foods you should avoid. The liquid diet stage is the worst stage in my opinion. IF you concentrate on getting your protiens in first and then vegatables you should do just fine.

Thank you for your message. There are times when I wonder if what I say is read or if it has any bearing on things at all. I am happy for yu having your date. Remember that in all you do it is a Journey and it does take work and sacrafice. The sleeve is a tool that helps us along the way but it is in NO way an easy journey. I have been dealing with a stall for a while now and I know what is causing it. I do not always eat the foods that I should but offshore working nights most definitely sabotages my new lifestyle. There is not many healthy choices for me at night and many many times it winds up being carb laced foods that I can eat. Keep your head up and GODSPEED on your journey.

Hiya Stacy! Congrats on getting your date! How very exciting!!! I'm so happy for you! When do you start your pre-op and what does it consist of? I've been a busy bee at work - got a huge promotion (yay!) which is taking a lot of my time cuz of course it comes with way more responsibility. How were the holidays for you?

Thank you for your lovely message.. I really appreciate that. I guess as I have got older I have got more to the point after all if you don't say what you mean you are not helping anyone. I am happy for you you have your date and keep in touch and if you need to talk I will always try to help.
I am in England at the moment with my daughter and son and my ex husband who is still a lovely friend whom I care about. We are preparing for my daughters wedding in August so I have been very quiet on here as I am in my homeland of England and drinking in the things I so miss...
I have lost a pound since being here so thats good.take care and write when you want
    Love Hev

2 days before surgery......

by StacyD on 02-08-2014 at 08:34 AM
I've had quite a bit of time to think about this whole gastric sleeve process and journey. Today begins my 13th day of the liquid diet and all in all I have only been tempted 3 times to go off. I did not however, I thought of all the times in my life I've 'gone off' for this or that and somehow it made my resolve even stronger that I am doing this surgery for the right reasons.

The months of testing and sometimes annoyances come with this whole journey. I didn't always agree

Lots going on this week!

by StacyD on 10-30-2013 at 08:48 PM
For all the anxiety I seem to have when I walk into a doctors office this week has not gotten me down yet. Monday I had the pulmonologist appointment and that went well. Tomorrow I have the Psych eval , the nutritionist and sleep apnea study - a fun packed afternoon and evening for me!

After all that I have my endoscopy in 2 weeks........it's just been a crazy ride but I'm not getting off of it until I get my sleeve! HooRah!!!! lol
