What a blessing that is about your mammo!! Prayers that these next 19 days go smoothly for you!
  12. Thank you everyone for your prayers. You all were right, false alarm. They showed me the spot they were looking at and then did the mammogram. When she came back in she told me good news, they had just not mashed my breast enough when they did the first one.

From there I went to my pre-op and saw my doctor. I am now officially excited.
  13. I am scheduled for surgery October 28th. I have had all my pre-op labs and EKG, I was due for a mammo and had that done too. Just as I was leaving Kaiser after receiving my date, my phone rang to tell me something was wrong with my mammo and they need me to come in and do another one...really my excitement only lasted five minutes.

On October 9th I have my mammo, breast ultrasound, pre-op class and my final appointment with my surgeon before surgery. I have waited so long for this and am worried that my mammo might hold this entire thing up. Please pray for me.

Question for year out or more sleevers

by cvhunterbrown on 12-05-2014 at 12:13 PM
My question to you all is, I understand the whole hair loss thing but what is up with the texture change of your hair. I had surgery last October and I am no longer experiencing hair loss, but my entire texture has changed. I can spend an hour curling my hair, and in 10 minutes it looks like I never curled it at all. I have resorted to pony tails which I hate but I don't know if I should cut it all off, wear a wig (which I am not fond of) or if I need to wear it in braids (which I am not

What a difference a year makes

by cvhunterbrown on 10-29-2014 at 09:05 AM
One year ago today, I started on a journey and what a journey it has been. When I am asked do I have any regrets about the surgery, I can honestly say yes. My only regret is that it took me five years to get my head right to have it. If I knew then what I know now, I would have stopped drinking soda, eating the wrong foods and exercised regularly a long tie ago. The sleeve has totally changed my life.

The sleeve has allowed freedoms I had denied myself in the past. I went scuba

What a difference from last year.

by cvhunterbrown on 09-15-2014 at 10:31 PM
I went on a cruise last year at the exact same time. What a difference a year makes. Never been big on pictures but I just had to share my before and after. Now I see why when I was going through customs he looked at my passport, then me, then my passport. He finally asked how old was my picture, then he told me I need to get a picture that looks like me.

He called me a regular

by cvhunterbrown on 07-30-2014 at 09:16 AM
My daughter and I went to the gym yesterday, as we were leaving, he said see you tomorrow. I said oh I'm not so sure about that. He said oh you girls are regulars. I have been a regular a lot of places etc. Dairy Queen, Thrifty's for ice cream, doughnut shops but never the gym.
My second NSV moment came earlier this week when my BMI finally got of the obese category and now I am just over weight. Never been so happy to be overweight.
For those of you at the beginning of your

Holding my head high

by cvhunterbrown on 05-12-2014 at 02:12 PM
I have not posted in a while but have been reading about everyone's success so I thought I would share mine.

While getting dressed for church yesterday, I decided to rummage through my closet to see what I could wear. I pulled out a size 10 dress to see how much further I had to go before I could fit it. To my surprise it fit, so I said to myself this just must be a big 10. I tried a several other 10's and they all fit.
What did I do, I rushed out to Ross and bought several
