5 Months Post-Op

by gpearson1968 on 07-14-2014 at 02:17 PM
I know my weight loss has been good, it's just not as great as I thought. I eat at least 5 times a day, always protein first and around 1200-1500 calories / day. I seem to be going from stall to stall, with the weight loss periods getting shorter and shorter and stalls even longer. The longest stall was 6 weeks and ended the day after I said "@#$@# it" and went for a Big Mac.....go figure.

I exercise much more than before the sleeve. Either playing hockey or strength training,

8 week post op

by gpearson1968 on 04-11-2014 at 08:23 AM
Weird sitting here, thinking about what I went through getting the Sleeve done, and that it was 8 weeks ago....wow.

Weight loss has been sporadic. I lost 12 on the pre-op diet, and 16 the week of the surgery. then nothing for a week, not one ounce.

Then 5 pounds in week 3 and 5 more in week 4. Then nothing again. Been hanging around 327 for the past 3 weeks now. Either up 1 or 2 or down one or two. Today is a good day, down to 325 but I feel like I'm starving

by gpearson1968 on 02-24-2014 at 06:55 PM
Hi folks,

Surgery Day.....surgery time at 7:15, got up at 4 for my final shower and me and the missus headed to the hospital. Got checked in, IV hook up, next thing ya know, I'm in my hospital room. Easy peasy.

Sitting up in bed was the hardest part. No water, just ice chips. They were PUMPING fluids into me through the IV, HARD....peed like a racehorse...

SD +1..got to brush my teeth and use some mouthwash....felt good. Felt decent, but sore. Water

Surgery on Monday

by gpearson1968 on 02-14-2014 at 10:23 AM
Probably my last posting until after i have the surgery. 2 weeks on the pre-op diet and I'm down 11 pounds, not too bad. Feels a lot like an Atkins-lite kind of diet so it was easy to get through.

I live near Greensboro, NC, and we got hit hard by this snow storm. Had to move my pre-op's around and actually had my surgeon call me at work this morning to do our pre-op. Nice guy, a little quirky, but I believe i'm in good hands here.

Gave me the go-ahead to have

First week of pre-op diet

by gpearson1968 on 02-10-2014 at 12:11 PM
Well, I finished 1 week of my pre-op diet. Every day is shake / meal / shake / meal / shake. I'm almost used to the shakes now. Chocolate seems to taste a bit better than the Vanilla. Got a 2nd order of protein so that I can keep one jug at home and the other at work.

Pre-op at the hospital and pre-op with the surgeon are both this Thursday ( 13th ) and surgery is still scheduled for the 17th, 1 week away. This time next week I should be recovering from a successful surgery
