I have added you to my friends list. Sounds like you are struggling a lot. I know that will stop for you, it just takes time. My dietician has me on non flavored yogurt, cottage cheese, lean meat and Yakult liquid probiotics. I have a real problem with sugar and he is trying to break that addiction. They first two days I thought I would die. I went and got 3 chicken tacos and TCBY. I am bad and sugar is my enemy.... He is so sweet, but I was starving..... I am back on it now...... I really appreciate you friending me. You are my second friend in this journey. I hope that you start feeling better. I have had 9 surgeries in the last 15 years, from a fall down a flight on cement and metal stairs on my head.... So, I feel like I am an expert at being a patient!!! Please keep me informed of your progress. I know you can do it........ Sincerely, Patty A.
  2. Good Morning, today is day 6 post op and I'm still hanging in there. It's been an interesting few days. I did pass the "Leak test" and all is well with the sleeve so far. Today I go to the doctor's office to have this tube removed from my stomach and let me tell you I can't wait to get it out. I'm having a little struggle getting out of bed once I get into it but I'm sure that will get easier over time.

I was very upset when I came home from the hospital because I didn't realize that I would GAIN weight while in there. I was NPO for more than 30 hours and I thought that I would be down by the time I got home so I went straight to the scales to weigh myself and I was up 12 lbs from the time that I went in. I had lost between 15 and 16 lbs on my pre op diet so I had gained most of that back. Didn't realize that it was IV fluids and my insides being swollen from surgery. I have since re lost that 12 lbs plus 1 more.

My question now is this, How long will it be before I actually see the scales moving in the right direction? I'm only sipping on a few liquids right now so it seems that I would be losing. Is my body in starvation mode or something? Is this normal?
