Today, I threw out the last of my presurgery clothes for being too big to wear in public. I have been shopping in the back of my closet for a couple months now and even those clothes are getting too big. I don't have a single thing that fits...not shirts, not pants, not even underwear. The swimsuit I couldn't squeeze into at ALL back in September fell off me last week. So after swearing I wouldn't buy anymore fat clothes, I broke down and bought some. Presurgery, I was all 3x and some 4x. Today's

So I'm currently 80 pounds down and 6 months out and like so many sleevers, I have trouble seeing any difference in the mirror. I mean, I know I'm losing. My entire wardrobe had had to change; all of my starting-weight shirts and pants are gone. In fact, the only articles of clothes I can wear now are my shoes and socks. Yesterday was my 3 month anniversary, but there was soooo much candy that needed crushing, and I didn't get around to posting until now. Three months gone! And gone with it are SIXTY-SEVEN pounds! I am lighter than I have been in the last ten years.

I've been visiting my dad since Thanksgiving, which has been a lot of fun. He's on a diet, so he and I pretty much eat the same stuff--lots of water and tea, a protein shake or bar for breakfast, high protein/low carb/low fat meals any other time. The holidays went well. My sister and her husband brought smoked turkey and stuffing. My younger sister (recently moved back in with our father) made sweet potatoes with marshmallows, the traditional pink whip fruit salad, and mincemeat pie, and I made

After only ten days at home (and the week it took to drive home after surgery), we got a midnight call from our baby sister. You all know about midnight calls. Anyway, she's all right, but family is family, so we piled back in the car and drove to New York to see her. That's right...in the last four weeks, we've gone from sea to shining sea and border to border. Looking out the window at the light dusting of snow framing the road, it seemed surreal to think I still had the sunburn I got in New Mexico.
