I had my gastric sleeve 12/23, 10 days post op.. I'm suppose to drink protein shakes for 2 weeks after my surgery. Why do some Doctors want their patients to do the protein shakes for 2 weeks after surgery but others are allowed allowed to eat foods shortly after their surgery. Aren't all sleeves the same?
I can start eating food on Tuesday 1/6 but I will throw up if I keep drinking these shakes. I have to eat real food sooner.

Had my Sleeve on Tuesday 12/23. I am only allowed Water, Crystal Light or Diet Tea until Sunday 12/27. So I will be 6 days without FOOD or PROTEIN!
I am SO HUNGRY now it PHYSICALLY HURTS my stomach. I read my Post Op instructions over and over to make sure I was reading it correctly.
I've read other posts of people drinking protein shakes right after surgery. I just took a few sips of a protein shake and I feel better. I know protein is needed for healing and muscle.

Merry Christmas to everyone.
I need help. I just got sleeved on 12/23 and I am having such hunger pains. I'm only allowed to take sips of water until Sunday then I can have protein shakes. I am so hungry that the hunger pains hurt so much. Is this normal? I feel like I need to have some more substance in my stomach than just water, crystal light or tea. I'm thinking of taking sips of milk to see if that relieves my hunger. Does anyone have any advice?

I just found out this evening that I am approved for my gastric sleeve surgery for Tuesday and I started crying. I wasn't crying because of being happy. I was crying because a feeling of fear came over me that something bad is going to happen to me. I don't know why. I am really afraid of getting complications.
Have some of you succeeded through the surgery without any complications?

HI,
Was anyone discharged from the hospital with medications? Do they send you home with Antibiotics or pain medication?
I'm having my Pre op appt tomorrow, my surgery is 12/23, and I wanted to know from the Dr. if I can prepare myself before my surgery date and get the scripts for my meds at my appt and have them filled before my surgery date so when I get home from hospital I'll already have them.
