Five. Oh!

by TheJennC on 03-26-2014 at 08:53 AM
Hey all! Just checking in -- life has been so hectic for me for the past few months. I hope all my January Sleevers are doing well! It's been almost 11 weeks for me, and I just hit 53 pounds lost. This is the lowest weight I've been in almost ten years.

I'm thrilled with my progress, but I know I've been relying a bit too much on the sleeve and haven't been working like I should. It's a struggle to change your habits after so many years of...well, nothing. I definitely eat better

Six Weeks Out

by TheJennC on 02-24-2014 at 05:58 AM
Hello all, I've been so busy around here I haven't had time to update. Hope everyone is doing well and feeling good! I feel great - a little over six weeks out and 37 lbs down! I can't believe how quickly time has gone. I can see the changes in my body, and am enjoying my clothes being looser (or too big altogether).

I'm eating *almost* normally - there's some things that don't sit well in my tummy just yet (ground beef is a big one). I don't get more than 1/2 - 3/4 cup of food down

Back to work this week - exhausted!

by TheJennC on 01-30-2014 at 08:50 AM
So I started back at work this past Monday after surgery on Jan. 10th. Everything is going well, I'm getting most of my water and protein in during the day, no real issues with my interval eating except on Tuesday when we were super busy. The only thing is by the time I get home at night I am DONE. Like, put on my pjs and go to bed DONE. I'm so tired at the end of the day! I know I'm not the only person that has experienced this and I know it's only for a short while, but I am glad It's my day off

First Post Op appointment, eleven days

by TheJennC on 01-21-2014 at 11:27 AM
Eleven days since my surgery and I'm down 20 pounds! I know I've lost more than that from before pre-op too. Thrilled doesn't even begin to describe how I'm feeling. I'm so excited for this new chapter in my life. I know the weight loss won't come as easy as it has these first few days but I finally feel as if I've got the right tools to handle it now. Which, of course, I do. thanks to Dr. Boorse!

Starting on purees Friday, can't wait for some meat! LOL

Post op! My first three days.

by TheJennC on 01-13-2014 at 10:04 AM
Sorry for the long ass post - just wanted to give a report on my experience so far.

Friday I got to the hospital a little before 8:30. I was sent to OR registration, where they took my name, gave my parents a beeper-type thing (so they would know when I was done), and I waited for someone to take me back. About five minutes later I went back, got weighed, and was led to my pre-op room. I got changed (fully) into my gown after I wiped my arms, legs, torso, and back off with the special
