hi! I plan on having my surgery in a few months. Do we have to return to mexico to have a tube taken out?

Hi Everyone - It has been along time since I posted any messages - life is busy! I had my surgery on August 28th, so it has been almost 10 weeks. I have lost 36 pounds so far and am feeling great. I have my moments where I ask myself, "what in the heck did you do", but, in the next moment I feel happy that I have come this far. Eating is strange for me now and I still cannot eat very much food. Everytime I try something like chicken or turkey, the amount is so ridiculously small, I know I am not getting enough nutrition. So, I eat alot of good healthy soups with vegetables. I drink my protein shakes almost every day and mix in bananas and dtrawberries for the extra taste!
I hope everyone is doing well!

Hey how are you feeling now? I'm so glad you have had a good recovery. I'm still learning how to eat. Its all weird to me. somethings I liked before I can't eat now.

Good morning everyone,
This is my 4th day since surgery and my 3rd day home from the hospital. My surgery was at noon on Wednesday and I came home Thursday night. While the Dr. was performing the sleeve surgery, he found that I had a hiatal hernia which he repaired,so a little more discomfort on my part.
I must say that I am doing remarkebly well. I have had no nausea at all. I am sore and feel like like I was punched in the stomach severl times. I have a drain tube in which will come out next Wednesday. I empty it twice a day. I am drinking protein shakes, water, and tea. I am eating soup and yogurt. I am eating chewable vitamins and chewable calcium chews which taste like chocolate.
The best part is I am down 6 pounds and I feel like I am on a road that will lead to happiness.
For everyone who has been through this, congratulations and thank you for your support. For everyone considering or is scheduled, GO FOR IT!! The price is only some slight discomfort, but I know the long term advantages will be so well worth it!
