    Thank you!
It´s good to have you! I´m almost through my first liquid week and I lost some weight already of course. It´s been kind of hard but I did well. Evenings are worst. I just came home from my choirs christmas concert and it took all my energy to sing for almost 4 hours. (rehersal+concert). But I´m proud that I did go instead of laying down under a blanket witch was what I wanted to do.

My bariatric center will give me recommendations for the time after suregery on monday. The ones having suregery on the same day mets up the day before for the hole day. It´s a day stuffed with info and meetings with the doctors and nurses and god knows what. Ihope I will feel prepared properly after that.
I´m happy for you that you are at your goal, could you even think that you would feel too thin, before you went through all this? That it could even happen seems unreal when you have struggled with overweight for so long.... But who knows, in a year or two I´ll maybe will be having to face that too!
    We will keep in touch!

Thank you, I´m greatful that you share your story with me!
Yesterday I told my little sister. She was very supportive actually! I was not sure of her reaction. She has always looked as a model all over and I have been hurt many times by strangers giving comments like "Is that your sister, you two looks sooooo different". People can be really mean...
Now I struggle with currage to call my mom and dad. Maybe I do it tonight. But as you said, it takes a lot to deal with possible drama. And also I need to tell my daughter. She has been away when I made the final plans so she missed it. My son was possitive and my husband also. But with him i talked about it for a long time.
    Bye for now!

Hi, today is day 2 of liquid diet and I feel really low. Frozen, sad and having a lot of pain all over my body. Hoping for tomorrow....
    Hope you´re doing well!

Hi, I´m happy to hear that you´re doing so fine!
I am now in the process of telling everyone about this. Started with work since they have to know I will be gone for a month
That went well, no bad comments or anything. I´m moore nerveus telling our friends and parents beceause no one has any weight problems and I feel really alone in this. I don´t have the energy dealing with their reactions if it´s bad.
I´m sort of cocooning now, preparing myself for my new life. In a week I will be starting my liquid period and then it´s time.
Do you remember how it was for you telling everyone and counting down for suregery?
Thank you for keeping your fingers crossed for me!

We are the same hight! You really lost a lot in this short period of time! I´m happy for you!
You are right. It is a process in so many ways. I´m thinking so much about this, dreaming lots of wierd dreams. During this month I might be able to sell a part of property that I own together with relatives. It´s a complicated thing but it will be a huge relief if it works out and I can use the money to pay for my surgery. Cross your fingers....
What is wrong with your gallblather? I havn´t heard of that sideeffect. Is it a big surgery?

While waiting for surgery I try really hard to loose some. I´m only having one meal a day and the rest like proteinshakes. I can´t stand gaining any moore while waiting. We are going skiing with family and friends in a few weeks and I hate this heavy feeling. It would be nice to be on the way so to speak.
Do you feel very different? And how does people around you reacting? Kind or envious? Do you have good support?
Hope to hear from you soon.
    Best wishes for your surgery!
    Ika

I am really interested in how many people who lost weight do not have to use the CPAP machine. From reading you post I am reminded how much people like to criticizes and if there is nothing obvious available they will make something up

. I'm so sorry about you not being able to work right now. Your weight loss is great but your health getting better is awesome! I'm always surprised when I hear of thin people with high cholesterol or blood pressure. I guess I thought only heavy people had it. It sounds like you might be taking cholesterol meds for ever. Have you had people tell you that you need to stop losing weight yet? I have and I'm getting sick of it! I'm 5' 4 and I weigh 146. I had 2 women tell me Saturday night that I needed to put some weight on! What!? My gosh it's not like I weigh 100 lbs. I think I look good and I'm very happy with 146. I really don't know if I can continue to just stand there and be nice if someone else tells me that I need to gain weight! I'm fine when people say I don't need to lose any more because I can take that as a compliment. I've bought so many new clothes it's not even funny. I gave all my other clothes away or donated them. I always liked shopping but it's so much better now that I can shop in any store and know they will have stuff to fit me! I know what you mean about your shoes. I wore a size 10 and now I wear a 8.5. My boots from last winter are way to big! Let me know how your next appt goes.

About LtWeight
Sleeved or not sleeved:
I have had a gastric sleeve.
Biography:
I grew up in the Southeastern US and was always very thin. In fact, I was teased as a child for being so thin. Around the age of 15 I put on a few extra pounds and considered myself fat. At that time I began a self imposed starvation diet. It worked, I was extra thin again but after a while I realized it wasn't healthy. I married and was well within the healthy weight range until about 8 years down the road. I ended up becoming overweight. It wasn't until I was around 40 years old that I really started packing on the pounds. I tried all kinds of diets along the way and I was successful with a 50# weight loss attending weight watchers meetings and following their plan. Of course, I ended up regaining almost all of the weight I had lost after about 2 years and even though I continued to attend meetings I was unable to stick with the plan and lose any substantial amount of weight.

I've always had a problem with high cholesterol but over the last couple of years I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and most recently high blood pressure as well as long standing problems with my ankle and knee. This all threw me for a loop! My father had been overweight and some similar problems and died at 69 after having had a stroke and from complications due to diabetes. I thought, wow all I'm waiting for is the diabetes and I'll have it all. His mother and grandmother also had suffered strokes, which were the cause of their deaths.

I began this weight loss journey in January 2013 with a visit to my primary care physician. I discussed my desire to get information on weight loss surgery and told her I wanted this visit to document this. After talking to my ex-sister-in-law who had recently had a revision to her RNY, she told me about a mutual friend who had recently had the Gastric Sleeve surgery. He told me about his surgeon, Dr. Stan Hoehn, and I began researching him. I talked to my friend, my insurance company, and my primary care physician about the surgeon I had selected. I attended a seminar where the surgeon I wanted was the presenter and had my sister attend another seminar with me later to help answer her questions. Thanks to the folks at KC Bariatric Center, including my wonderful surgeon, Dr. Stan Hoehn, and the case manager Lana Lee who went above and beyond in her efficiency and efforts, I found myself having surgery July 29, 2013. (I was hoping for surgery no later than mid August!)
