Hey Kim, are you getting excited? I have my preop testing Monday, and while I've ordered upcal d, and b12, dots, I have stopped.. I'm scared of ordering shakes and things, just afraid something will come up from the testing that will prevent the surgery?? Gees, I know I'll have time, but I wish I was confident this surgery was really happening next month. Do u ever feel this way? It's ok to tell me I'm crazy! Hope your having a great last month of your old life!

Hey there! THe 77in my name is actually my initials upside down.... (It was my pager code back in the day and has remained "my number" if you will) But 82 is close enough! I finally got a date 9/30 set in stone! Assuming cardiac comes back clear and sleep study goes well, I'm on my way. I am so glad I found this place and new friends! =)

Not the best . Having a hard time getting comfortable. I sleep on my side or stomach and due to the soreness that just ain't happening. So I have been napping in the recliner.

Hi Kim; I was really surprised by the responses I received from some friends and family when I told them of my decision. One friend, and yes she's still a friend, kept sending me these diets that were just crazy like the "lemonade diet" or eat 3 days and just water the other 4...stupid stuff. I know it was because she is concerned about me and this is a big step but at the same time I need her support. We had a long talk, cried a little, laughed a little and now she's one of my biggest supporters. What people that aren't this overweight don't understand is that our bodies are also working against us right now, our fat around our midsection starts to make it's own hormones, other issues like diabetes keep us at this weight, it's not something we can do without help and that's exactly what this surgery is, it's that helping hand, that tool we need to finally get the weight off and keep it off. To have a life. I can't wait for my surgery date (8/20/13), I'm nervous but I'm also excited-it's that next chapter in my life and it's going to be much better than the last! I want to get out of bed without groaning or my knees aching or my back hurting. I want to wear pretty cloths and not the tents with big prints I wear now. We can all do this and I'm so glad this site is out there, no one is going to understand more than someone that is in this with me.

Hey! Thanks for the request! I look forward to following your journey!
  7. Yes we will! They will be supportive once it's done. They just think it's drastic since I've lost 100 lbs before on my own. I just keep pointing out that I didn't keep it off and I haven't been able to do it since. It'll work out!

I have had a gastric sleeve.
Biography:
Back in July 2009, it took me 11 months to lose 106 lbs doing the South Beach diet. In Nov 2010, I started putting it all back on after a series of problems in my life. I have struggled tremendously to find that kind of will power again and eventually gave up, ballooning to my highest weight ever. My family feels I am being too drastic deciding on WLS, but I can't wait for my journey to begin.

3 MONTHS POST-OP (with comparison pics)!

by Kimpossible318 on 12-16-2013 at 08:22 AM
So these past 3 months have come and gone in a whirl. It's insane!

I have discovered an application called "Monitor Your Weight" on my phone. It's pretty cool - you should check it out.

Basically, in 3 months I have lost 62.4 lbs. My BMI has gone from 56 to 45.9. I have lost 36% of the weight I want to lose in nearly 25% of the time I want to lose it. Not too shabby.

I am happy with my weight

10 weeks post-op UPDATE!

by Kimpossible318 on 11-25-2013 at 10:42 AM
I seriously cannot believe it has been 10 weeks already. I know they say time flies the older you get, but sheesh....maybe I need it to slow down a little.

Again, I apologize for not being as active on here as I was. This is the time of year where work gets a little cRaZy and my travel schedule gets ramped up. I just got into town last Tuesday night late and I leave again this coming Wednesday. Oy!

So here are my thoughts about being sleeved thus far:

Home, sweet home

by Kimpossible318 on 11-19-2013 at 11:45 PM
Remember me? Yeah, I know I've been M.I.A. lately.

Just returned home from a 9 day business trip to Chicago. I was incredibly busy throughout each and every day.

I missed my gastricsleeve.com peeps sooo much.

I will be working on posting my 2 month post-op blog ASAP.

Hope to catch up on all of you by the end of the week.

Take this phlegm and shove it, yo!

by Kimpossible318 on 11-07-2013 at 02:33 AM
Prior to my surgery...about 3 weeks prior, I got sick. It wasn't too be unexpected cuz I always come down with the same crud. I always try to self-medicate. I eventually figure out I can't and then I go to see the doctor. This time was different. I felt a sore throat pop up out of the blue on Tuesday. My FB friends were so kind to throw natural remedies my way from apple cider added to my water to honey in my tea, but I Nyquil'd myself just to get sleep and vowed to go to the doctor the next

6 Weeks Post Op!

by Kimpossible318 on 10-28-2013 at 06:25 AM
Okay, okay....I'll admit it. Since I moved back home (a week ago this past Sunday), I've stepped on the scale every day.

Some days there is no loss. Other days it's a pound. Today was a one-pounder which put me at 40 lbs lost! I couldn't be happier!

I had two kiddie birthday parties to attend this weekend. The first one, on Saturday, I ate a small piece of brisket with bbq sauce. The second one, I just sipped on my drink the whole time. After yesterday's party,
