Hi Kim. I am at home now. About ready to attempt my first shower. They did ask if I want to have one there but since I was going home I figured I would wait. I didn't feel gross or anything so I said no thanks. It feels great to be home, the only thing that is really hard is my 70 pound puppy who missed me, and he wants me to hold him :-( he really is pining for all my attention and I keep scolding him. He is just too big for me right now to do anything with. He just turned 8 months, so he is very much like a baby still. At least he is totally house broke! After my husband gets off work, I am walking with him and he can walk the dog. For now it is sip the shake, sip the shake, sip the shake... I really do not want anything. Powerade Zero is my best friend right now.

How are you doing?? Are you still sore??

I am doing great!! Just sore. And can not sleep. Buti was up walking for a half hour around the hospital 8 hours after surgery. I will to go home sometime today. The surgeon will probably be here in three hours or so. I will message soon . Thank you!!! And no chicken legs, just optisource which isn't bad at all.

Thank you for the encouraging words! You made a good point... I'm confident that I'll come through the surgery fine, I'm mostly worried about how the recovery is going to go afterward. I live alone and my parents are going to be out of town the week of my surgery so I'm going to largely be alone once I leave the hospital. I'll have friends stopping by to check on me, I just hope that I'll still be able to move around on my own. I can't wait until I'll be over the hump about a month from now!!

    Hey Kim,

Sorry to bother you but because I am new to this site, I am trying to get around but how do I find threads of mine that I posted so I can responde or see answers? Thanks. Your help is so appreciated. Sounds like your doing great.

Hi! I've seen your posts and have been following you since your surgery It has helped me to see that you're so open... I'm having a hard time because although I think that I'm ready to do the work that comes with being on the "losers side", I'm terrified about the actual surgery part. So thank you for helping me gain some perspective!

That is so good that you are doing so well. I really hope I have the same experience. Thank you, I am excited too. I am feeling OK, dream like actually. Today I was in the kitchen and almost forgot I am not suppose to eat anything. But I caught myself. CRAZY, CRAZY dreams too. Here is the best one, I had just had the procedure done and the nurses were encouraging me to walk, so I walked down to the cafeteria by myself, and got a fried chicken drumstick. I was walking the halls chowing down on this chicken leg without a care in the world until it was all gone, and then I panicked thinking I just had surgery and I am not suppose to eat anything let alone fried chicken. The panicked feeling in my dream woke me up. HA HA.. My husband and I had a good laugh.. But how odd is that?! I have checked my bag at least three times. I have checked my kids overnight bags probably more then that. Is this normal?? LOL. I am very happy and excited more then anything.I am nervous too, but I am trying to stay 100% positive. Thank you Kim.

How are you doing? How did the gut slinging go? Did they let you keep any souvenirs?

Well, my first and last day went great!

I work for the Federal Government, so I'm not allowed to go to work today. Great timing!

Why thank you lady friend. Can you believe that new back side photo was MY idea? I never would have knowingly allowed that before. Also, I adore your awesome attitude and your very friendly comments...you are too kind. Hope the remodel is coming along.

Crap, just sent a visitor message to myself instead of to you. Lol! Anyway I'm still trying to post my before and after pics, I'm just having a little trouble. I'm going to my teen daughter's field hockey game now, then coming home, and making dinner. Hopefully I'll have a chance to put it up tonight. Correction, I'll have a chance, hopefully it will work!
    Talk to you soon,

    Hugs
    Rose

Back in July 2009, it took me 11 months to lose 106 lbs doing the South Beach diet. In Nov 2010, I started putting it all back on after a series of problems in my life. I have struggled tremendously to find that kind of will power again and eventually gave up, ballooning to my highest weight ever. 3 MONTHS POST-OP (with comparison pics)!

by Kimpossible318 on 12-16-2013 at 08:22 AM
So these past 3 months have come and gone in a whirl. It's insane!

I have discovered an application called "Monitor Your Weight" on my phone. It's pretty cool - you should check it out.

Basically, in 3 months I have lost 62.4 lbs. My BMI has gone from 56 to 45.9. I have lost 36% of the weight I want to lose in nearly 25% of the time I want to lose it. Not too shabby.

I am happy with my weight

10 weeks post-op UPDATE!

by Kimpossible318 on 11-25-2013 at 10:42 AM
I seriously cannot believe it has been 10 weeks already. I know they say time flies the older you get, but sheesh....maybe I need it to slow down a little.

Again, I apologize for not being as active on here as I was. This is the time of year where work gets a little cRaZy and my travel schedule gets ramped up. I just got into town last Tuesday night late and I leave again this coming Wednesday. Oy!

So here are my thoughts about being sleeved thus far:

Home, sweet home

by Kimpossible318 on 11-19-2013 at 11:45 PM
Remember me? Yeah, I know I've been M.I.A. lately.

Just returned home from a 9 day business trip to Chicago. I was incredibly busy throughout each and every day.

I missed my gastricsleeve.com peeps sooo much.

I will be working on posting my 2 month post-op blog ASAP.

Hope to catch up on all of you by the end of the week.

Take this phlegm and shove it, yo!

by Kimpossible318 on 11-07-2013 at 02:33 AM
Prior to my surgery...about 3 weeks prior, I got sick. It wasn't too be unexpected cuz I always come down with the same crud. I always try to self-medicate. I eventually figure out I can't and then I go to see the doctor. This time was different. I felt a sore throat pop up out of the blue on Tuesday. My FB friends were so kind to throw natural remedies my way from apple cider added to my water to honey in my tea, but I Nyquil'd myself just to get sleep and vowed to go to the doctor the next

6 Weeks Post Op!

by Kimpossible318 on 10-28-2013 at 06:25 AM
Okay, okay....I'll admit it. Since I moved back home (a week ago this past Sunday), I've stepped on the scale every day.

Some days there is no loss. Other days it's a pound. Today was a one-pounder which put me at 40 lbs lost! I couldn't be happier!

I had two kiddie birthday parties to attend this weekend. The first one, on Saturday, I ate a small piece of brisket with bbq sauce. The second one, I just sipped on my drink the whole time. After yesterday's party,
