My weight has not been as rapid as some I've read about on here, but I also started out at a lower weight than a lot of folks. I am 9 months out and have lost 75 pounds. It is coming off very slowly now and I have developed some bad habits (eating sweets instead of protein!) that I am working on now. I say all of this to say, relax! Just keep your calories below 1000, get all your protein and water, take your vitamins, and eat enough carbs to feel good. You will lose weight! There is really no way you can't with the size of your tummy!

I was having the same problems. My surgery was 9/5. Reading your posts help me. Thank you
  5. Hi hope you are feeling better. I know some days are a little rough, but remember its only temporary hang in there!!!! I'm here for you when u need me!! Please watch your electrolytes imbalance is attributed to rapid weight loss so be careful.

YES! I had one day (probably about day 10) where I was sure I was going to pass out. I talked to my nurse and she told me to add some carbs! I was in ketosis --- rapid weight loss but no energy --- mashed potatoes, potato soup, refried beans: all of these will help. Hope you are already better now! I have been traveling so have not been on the site. I think we are supposed to shoot for 80 carbs/day... does that sound right?

Hang in there Jelly, it's a bit rough for everyone the 1st week or so. Follow the diet and instructions and you're gonna make it! There have been thousands before you that have probably felt the same way and got though it and are happy they did. You can do this!

Hey girl! Well it's deff gotten easier.. Still have some emotional battles. But I think that might last a while? I'm almost 8weeks out now & 49lbs down.. Almost 50! Lol
I wouldn't say I have any saggy skin? But I know it's about time I start working out! Because I eventually want to look good naked =P lol

LQA - Let me in encourage you that for the first few days it's a bit rough.....can't hold liquids down, nor will you desire anything. However, after about 4 days, things start to brighten up a bit. I'm about 17 days out and I have a healthy appetite now and can now start drinking protein shakes. Bottom line LQA, don't be anxious to like your old self or skinny.....it's a process and processes take some time and discipline. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and it's gotten much closer.....you've taken the first step. Congrats, and stay safe. B.J.
  12. Hi, yes i had that feeling for about a month. My surgeon said its youe esophogus healing after surgery. Remember, your stomach is surgically moved closer to your esophogus and its in the process of healing. Drink liquids slowly, only sipping. It will get better. Also, try to drink water at room temp if you can, the light-headness and dizziness is partial dehydration, which can get worse over the next few months, so please stay hydrated!1 i ended up in the hospital from that. Take care, all the best. Feel free to write anytime

oh yes, but it's normal, from what I understand. Our bodies are trying to adjust to much lower calories and food amounts/types and it goes a little off. Hang in there, it'll get better. It doesn't happen to me anymore. I'm 1 week and 3 days out, but I can't say how long it will happen for you. Just make sure you get in the protein amounts required by your NUT and make sure you drink/sip water all the time. I carry a bottle of water with me at all times.
