  1. By the way, we got new bariatric surgeons in the practice that I went to. It took almost two years for new surgeons to come on board. I work at a local hospital, and I am fully covered if I have my surgery done here. I waited until we had an experienced bariatric surgeon arrive to the practice.

  3. Hello, I have not visited this site for over two years because my doctor's license was suspended! I now am back on track and just had my Lapband removed 3 weeks ago. I will be scheduling surgery for a gastric sleeve in May or June. My doctor wants it to heal for approximately 3 months. This is my problem: I had titanium staples used for my laparoscopic removal of the Lapband AND I AM ALLERGIC TO THEM! My doctor cannot use titanium since I am allergic (I intend to discuss what he will be using in place of titanium), but I wanted to see if any of you can tell me if you know of other methods of stitches/staples, or can they use platinum, which is what a friend of mine told me they should use. Any stories or insights into alternative suture/staple closings for my gastric sleeve surgery would be helpful. Thank you. Cindy
  4. Thank you! You too as well. It feels like a long time for me to wait, but it goes by fast - don't I know it. That is why I wanted to try to do something to lose wait - again...I don't want to give up. I just need a little more help, since the Lap band was not successful for me. The support is so nice from this forum. As the time to have the Sleeve comes closer, I will probably be on this site all the time.
