Yes I miss home terribly it's quite something living on a mountain in NC lovely to see your flag here's my email address write to me if you like starryknyght@frontier.com
We can then talk ..I am really glad your surgery went well for you. If you write to me put your name and gastric sleeve in the subject line.. So I know it's you ..
I hope you have enough information on how to go about this if you need any I didn't go to Mexico and I was still on liquids two weeks after my sleeve I am 9 weeks out today and still not added all the foods. My surgeon was conservative with adding food.
Take care all the best fellow Brit :-) Hev
  2. Sorry I haven't been on this site in so long...I was sleeved on Aug 7th in Mexico. Met some of the nicest folks from different parts of the US - fellow sister-sleevers - and TG for them and their support. Everyone was right about the Marriott hotel and comfortable beds. I didn't really spend any time with Dr Ortiz, just a few mins before the surgery and never saw him again but Dr Martinez and Dr Victoria were awesome, and so generous with their time. I was super sick from the meds to counter the anesthetic but the staff stayed on top of it so it worked out ok after a couple of days. If I had to complain about anything, it would be that I am hungry. I thought we weren't supposed to be hungry post-surgery and they said that it would be head hunger but I promise, I'm hungry. Not to mention I seriously miss chewing food :-) I have not managed to get my bowels to work normally either and I think once that happens, I might start to see some real weight loss because currently I'm not and I feel a little disheartened by it all, considering how little I eat/take in. Despite all this, I don't regret it for a second and am looking forward to my new sleeved life! To anyone unsure about doing this in Mexico...I was in TJ and the people could not have been kinder and the hotel & hospitals have this worked out like a well-tuned piano....and we never felt unsafe.

Hello I just love that flag! I just looked on the about you tab and can't see where you come from? But with a flag like that I would imagine you are British?
Or you love Britain.. Which is it?
The reason I ask is because I am British...have lived In USA for just under 3 years now.
I see you are about to have your surgery. Good luck I am 6 almost 7 weeks out now. Everything went well and the results are amazing.
Would like to hear from you if you have time
    Hev

Congratulation on making the choice to change your life. I was sleeved Jan 12,2013 by Dr. Sergio Quinones in Mexico and it was the best thing I could have done. I am part of a great support group on Facebook. It's for people who are thinking about weight loss surgery, pre-op and post-op. The group it set to secret. No one on your Facebook page will know your a member of the group or see any post you make. If you feel that this will help you along your journey, message me and I will add you to the group. Find me on Facebook stacyeckel@gmail.com Good luck on your journey.Stacy

Lettuce

by Vetniemeer on 07-15-2013 at 07:25 PM
Hi All, on the other sleeve site I've seen a few posts about lettuce and how hard it is to digest for quite some time. Curious if anyone here has managed to eat a salad yet and if so, how long after you were sleeved? Thanks!
