Good luck! I'm glad I had my surgery done. Its well worth it! I have lost a good amount of weight so far. It's a way toward a new and healthier life!
  3. On my way in 9 days!!!! I'm getting excited and anxious. Maybe a little bit of fear creeping in but not too much. I am scheduled with Dr. Ortiz and A Lighter Me on April 10th. Pre-op diet is so far going well and I'm hoping it stays that way. I purchased my gas-x strips but I am wondering about shampoo, soap, etc for at the hospital? I was just reading someone's post from another Mexican hospital and some of these items were unavailable. So....any ALM alums that can pass along some advice as to those types of items (or anything else) please feel free to send it my way.

Congratulation on making the choice to change your life. I was sleeved Jan 12,2013 by Dr. Sergio Quinones in Mexico and it was the best thing I could have done. I am part of a great support group on Facebook. It's for people who are thinking about weight loss surgery, pre-op and post-op. The group it set to secret. No one on your Facebook page will know your a member of the group or see any post you make. If you feel that this will help you along your journey, message me and I will add you to the group. Find me on Facebook stacyeckel@gmail.com Good luck on your journey.Stacy

Sleeved or not sleeved:
I have had a gastric sleeve.
i am a current lapband patient with no fill becuase in the last 8 months i started showing signs of dysphagia and achalasia caused by the lapband. In Feb of 13 my dr removed all my fluid because i couldn't keep anything down including water at certain times. I am now waiting to go back to my dr for a consult and am hoping to switch to the sleeve. Unfortunately i am self pay so i am hoping he will do revision surgery in one surgery. not yet sure if insurance will pay just for removal of band.

I had my lapband removed on 11/18/2013 and am currently looking into surgeons in Mexico so I can be sleeved. I weigh as much now as I did 4 yrs ago when I got my lapband. I have been depressed and so very unhappy with myself and this whole situation but so excited to "restart" my weight loss again.

I am trying to decide which surgeon to use but there are so many good things said about most of these drs that its a really tough decision. If any of you who have had your
