Just wanted to say thanks for the add. I watched your YouTube videos and you are a true inspiration in every sense of the word! God bless you on your journey and I look forward to following your progress!
  7. @kagomechina Glad to see someone from my neck of the woods on this site. Pray your journey is going great. @sleevedlife glad you like that tip. It really helped me to liven up those shakes, especially when I didn't have time to blend smoothies. Also try the mio energy (black cherry is the bomb) for a lil pick me up.
    Blessings,

A tip I learned from my weight management Doc, was to add flavoring to the vanilla so that you don't get bored with the shakes. So I get some of those mio water enhancers in a few different flavors, orange-tangerine & cranberry-rasberry are my favorite. It makes the shake taste different, and the orange tastes like orange cream...yum yum.
OMG IM LOVING THIS IDEA THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!

Biography:
Rev. Ellington W. Porter, affectionately known by his congregation as Pastor E, is one of the dynamic duos Pastoral dream team at the Genesis Church. Known for his energetic, humorous, yet reality based style of preaching, Pastor E. W. Porter has touched thousands of lives through his ministry.Born on August 17, 1973, this native Minnesotan learned at an early age that he had an unusual gift of leadership with his peers as well as his elders. At the age of 5, the young E. Porter accepted the call of Christ in his life, and became a young leader of the church as a Junior Deacon under the leadership of his father and Pastor Dr. Robert Porter. As Rev. E. Porter began to grow older in age and spirit, more responsibility was added to his roster. At the age of eleven Ellington began to study piano, and at thirteen he taught himself how to play the Organ. This was the beginning of what would soon become a gifted ministry of music. Meanwhile, at the age of twelve the young E. Porter along with his brother Tecoy Porter age fifteen (now known as the Porter Brothers) began team ministry. Their father and Pastor appointed them Minister of Music and Lead Musician over all choirs of the Shiloh Baptist Church in St. Paul Minnesota. This indeed was a challenge for these teenage young men, to lead a group of their peers, as well as a group of their elders. But with God's favor, they would meet the challenge with great success.Pastor E, while in Minnesota completed his elementary, Jr. High, and first year of High School in the St. Paul School District. He and his family later in the year of 1988 relocated to Sacramento, California where hid Graduated from Elk Grove High School in 1991. Rev. Porter has also completed studies in the area of Music at Sacramento City College, and has attended the California State University of Sacramento where he studied vocal Music. Pastor E. W. Porter has also attained an Associates in Music Ministry, Associates in Biblical Studies, and a Bachelor of Arts in Ministerial Studies from the Trinity Life Bible College of Sacramento, California. In 2004 Both Pastor E and Pastor T were commemorated for their Christian leadership by the St. Thomas Christian College and Seminary as they honored them with Doctorate of Divinity Degrees. After relocating to California, Pastor Ellington continued to be a great support to his Father in his ministry. In 1990 the Lord led Dr. Robert Porter along with 200 members to establish the Genesis Missionary Baptist Church. It is here that the young E. Porter worked closely with his father as an ordained Deacon, lead musician, Sunday school teacher, and Elementary school administrator.Musically, Rev. Ellington's gifts began to expand into areas of songwriting & record production. In the early 1990's the Lord afforded the ministry team of Tecoy and Ellington Porter to become official with the start of Markee-Wes Production Company. Along with the administrative savvy of Rev. Tecoy

10 Months out and still making progress!

by revewp on 06-05-2014 at 01:51 AM
I had no idea that I hadn't posted in so long. I slowed down long enough to scroll on over here to the place that helped me on my weight loss journey with so much great information, and so much inspiration. I remember before and just after my surgery that I would see others stop updating and posting, and wonder how could this be? How could they stop being inspired, stop sharing stories, how could this be?

Now I find myself realizing exactly how this could be. Life begins to

3 months out, and on my way into 2ville!!!

by revewp on 11-15-2013 at 01:51 PM
I have been on this journey to a healthier me for over a year now. When I started out on this adventure I was tipping the scales at just under 400lbs. 398lbs to be exact. I determined that I had to make a life change.

I started on my quest to lose weight, but that quest expanded once I realized that losing weight was not the solution. By this I mean I have lost weight many times over, but I would find myself gaining back everything I lost, and then some.

I have

Super senses!!!

by revewp on 09-25-2013 at 11:20 AM
OK... Is it only me, or does anyone else seem to have like straight up SUPER SENSES... Since the surgery, I have noticed an increasingly greater sense of smell and taste.

I mean smells are like kicked up 1000%. Things that smell pleasant smell really nice, but those stinky smells, make me almost gag. I feel like I can almost taste pretty much everything I smell.

And Taste is an interesting phenomenon. I mean it is tricky. For instance some things that I used to

1st flight since surgery...

by revewp on 09-06-2013 at 06:52 PM
I am 6 weeks post op, and my wife and I went on our first trip since the surgery. We flew from San Francisco to Dallas (for the Megafest conference), and for the first time in YEARS... I was able to fly on a plane without a seat belt extension.

I know for some of you that may be a silly sharing experience, but for me... I was ready to get up and run up and down the aisle of the plane and shout out loud....I DID IT...I DID IT... WOOOO HOOO!!!

I am down from an original

It's my bday... and I am celebrating 40 and a Healthier me!

by revewp on 08-18-2013 at 02:10 AM

Today (8.17.2013) I celebrated my 40th birthday. My wife was so excited she threw me a white party. If any of you are like me, I use to hate wearing all white, because to put it simple, it was just a lot of white material to make all of this look good...lol. This year was a bit different. As many of you know, if not let me share with you, that I have been on this Journey to a healthier me for the last year. It was precisely this time last year that
