Hi dolphins 0412 glad to see your posts. I too live in Pahrump and am getting the Sleeve in January 2015. By the at time you will have lost a bunch of weight. Congratulations on your decision to be healthy.
  2. Some fun with the sleeve. I just had to share a few things. I learned that I have lost enough weight to wrap a bath towel around me. A regular one and not the beach towel. Ha ha ha. I used to wear a 22/24 and today I bought a size 16. They are snug but I could pull em up over my butt. They should fit nicely in a few weeks. I am able to take off my wedding rings without freezing my fingers and greasing them up. That is exciting!!! I am learning to listen to my tummy and not my head. Most of all I feel fantastic... Thanks to this group for all the support it means so much.

LOL. I have to admit your screen name caught my eye! I LOVE LOVE LOVE dolphins. I have a collection of dolphin windchimes from all over the world and have them ALL hanging above my bed so I sleep to the sounds of them every night with a fan blowing . I also MUST admit I love facebook games. That was funny to read that. So those along with the gastric sleeve ( as of 9-24) we have in common. I wish you the best of luck with your journey

hi again. I havent taken my pai. Meds beyond the second day either. I was shockec at how much effort it takes to eat and drink. I have been one to drink 2 gallons of ice t in one day. Drinking is a must. Dont wanna end up back in the hospital. Only issue i had was the first bm. It took over a wee to pass and felt like giving birth ojt of the wrong end. I had y first post op visit. 20 pounds gone! Thank god
  11. have not taken pain meds since day 2. Slightly tender but other than that it's ok. I can already sleep on my side which is great. My anesthesiologist was very good. I was asleep before I cold even say good night. It seemed like I woke up quickly too. He had a terrible black eye he said was from falling in the pool. It looked bad but he was very good at what he did. If you get him you will feel comfortable. All of the nurses in the preop area were like family. They had one lady they called mama she was cute as could be. It was a good experience. I was horribly nervous too but I am sure it is the right decision. I want to live! This was my final surgery in a line of them beginning with breast cancer, hyst, and the GVS. All in an effort to never get cancer again. Thinking of being a grandma someday and I wanna spoil em rotten. LOL If you have any questions ask. If I can answer them I will. Know you are not alone. We are on this journey together.

Thank you so much for the message, you have no idea how much I needed it!!!
I am so glad to hear your surgery went so well with Dr Umbach. Keep working on those fluids, I can only imagine how difficult it is.
I am getting more and more nervous & terrified of anesthesia. Are you in a lot of pain? Are you taking oral pain meds?
Any other info you have would be appreciated
Please keep in touch with your recovery!!
    Amanda
  13. Hello Jen and thank you for writing to me. How are you feeling? I am very tired. I forget to drink and eat which has NEVER been a problem. My goal today is to drink enough water. I am almost through a cup I better step it up a bit. LOL I have had a time with the gas that settles in the shoulder and diarrhea. Sorry to be graphic but it's an issue. Other than that I feel good.

The joys of being sick

by dolphins0412 on 10-26-2013 at 07:29 PM
Three months out and who would of thought of catching a case of strep throat? I couldn't eat anything for two days. That was fine as the medication worked I healed and I wasn't really hungry. Fast forward a day and then I start vomiting from 11pm to 5am. Next day same thing starts at 11ish but ended quickly. I missed 2 days from work and went to the dr. She tells me it's an intestinal virus. Then tells me to slowly introduce carbs, protein, veggies, then fruit lastly milk. Can I tell you

Two months down... a lifetime to go!

by dolphins0412 on 09-11-2013 at 12:01 AM
My two month anniversary is quickly approaching. I am down 46 pounds and two clothing sizes. I still have a lot to go but I am inching closer to my goal. I set my first goal at 50 pounds. I am going to get a massage when I reach that goal. I haven't even thought about the 100 pound mark. It will come though. I am trying to find a good balance with the water and food. I am getting better. It has been such an adjustment. I love bread but can't eat it, pasta either. However, I feel so much

Uggggg!

by dolphins0412 on 08-05-2013 at 09:29 AM
Hello all,

Just a little update. I am feeling a bit frustrated. I have been following the recommendations of the dr and got to say the weight loss has slowed a lot. Have any of you had this experience? Tomorrow is my three week post surgery and I am down quite a bit but haven't lost much since my two week. I think I need to hide the scale.

I am getting frustrated with my hubby because he is always trying to get me to eat when I am not hungry or have had my meal

Post-op check up

by dolphins0412 on 07-29-2013 at 08:32 AM
I am getting ready to head into the Dr.s for my two week check up. So far the weight loss has been amazing. However, I have not lost anything for two days. I am sure that is nothing to worry about but, you know how it is. Watching my hubby eat has been uggg! I wanted his spaghetti so bad. It is my favorite meal. I want to thank all you inspiring people here for sharing your story. They keep me on track and going in the right direction. Have a blessed day. I hope to bring back good news.
