Hmm the hardest thing I had to go through would be acid reflux/heartburn...I went to my primary care physician and they prescribed me meds so it is tolerable now. Other then that everything has been absolutely great. Dr Garcia and his team are wonderful, they really go out of their way to make you feel safe! No hair loss,my hair is actually growing. I did use a detox shampoo after surgery to get rid of the anesthesia, you can get that at any beauty supply store. I did do a post diet for about a month after surgery just liquids and things...I gradually added regular food back. You won't be able to eat much even after 6 months...one or two bites and I am full. My advice to you is don't over eat...if you feel full stop because the pain is horrible! Congrats on taking this big step and everything will work out for the best!!
  5. Thanks! I'm so nervous! Happy to have this forum. It really helps to hear from others and get some words of encouragement!

I can't think of a thing I would do differently. I followed the doc and nutritionist rules and hadn't had a problem at all. I enjoy my Capt Morgan and an occational glass of wine but had deferred to the NUT and decided to put that off until a few more weeks. I'm at the point that I feel those are empty calories. I will also test it at home 1st because I've been told that alcohol will affect you quicker with the sleeve.
I remember my last 10 days well! Take a deep breath...take things as they come and I hope you have a smooth recovery!
  7. Thanks for the encouraging words. Did you do any post diet before surgery? Did you loose any hair after? What is the vitamin that I've been reading about that will help you not loose as much hair. I have to say My husband and I went out for dinner tonight and I ate too much and really let myself down....Tomorrow is another day and I will be in better control. Thanks for listening

The only thing I regret is not doing this 10 years ago.... I have missed so much. I had my surgery on May 22nd and I am down 32lbs. I am finally finding me again. I have been hiding under this weight for so so long.. good luck to you!!! Feel free to contact me with any questions or support!!!
  9. Getting my sleeve in Mexico by Doctor Garcia. First time posting so if anyone can give me any one very important thing they would do different or to make this life change not so scary I'd appreciate it.
