I feel amazing! I do not regret my decision. However, the surgery is not a quick fix. Lifestyle changes MUST occur!!

Hi! How are you? Thanks for the compliment. I'm still at this trying to figure out my new body! I have begun some new bad habits. I'm starting to snack. I feel hungry more now and my sleeve is holding more. How much do you eat at one time? I'm still trying to stay at a cup of food but sometimes I don't feel full with that.
  3. Thank you I have been doing much better broke my stall down to 237 now how are you? I agree I have to do better with my workouts

Hi Kstarnes77! Yes I made it to onederland after a stall! How are you doing? I am getting as much running in as I can and I don't eat any carbs which I think has really helped. It's just incredible how much better I feel than I did 6 weeks ago. I love my sleeve!
  5. Thank you very much. I'm doing much better down 25lbs but still not feeling 100 percent myself but I'm doing great still. How are you?

Hey Girl! I read your message yesterday while at the airport and it helped me a lot. I seemed to have gotten stuck in this loop that the pain/discomfort would never go away. Ever! And, right on the money, it has gotten better every day. So, thank you for the perfectly timed encouragement.

How are you feeling? Anything you have found that is satisfying and acceptable to eat? I go back to work tomorrow. I'm no anxious about it but I am, ok, maybe a little anxious. I just don't know if I am going to get too tired. Mondays are my long days. And I can't miss the last half of the day. I am thinking about going home for an hour and a half before my second job if that will fly with my boss. Take a nap.

    Are you back to work?

    Have a great Sunday!

    Deb

I found premier protein at market street. It's an upscale store like world market and whole foods. I have the chocolate. It's really not too tough to get down and it's 30 grams of protein! They come in packs of four. My dr. Said they're great.

Hi k Starnes! Yes, I can't wait to get in the 100s again. It's probably been 6 years since I've seen that. How are you doing? I started to drink a bariessentials shake the other day and almost threw up. Them I tried an organic shake and it was gritty and gross. Then I found premier protein and those work fine for me. I sip on one when I wake up and one in the afternoon. Gets me 60 grams of protein. I'm having soup and water in between. I'm sure that will get old but I'm doing fine with that for now. I had to hide the scale bc I was getting too obsessed. I just want to see the numbers go down!

What is a typical weight loss at 1 month out?

by kstarnes77 on 11-04-2013 at 06:20 PM
I am just curious! I am 7 days post op and 10 pounds down. So happy about this! My day of surgery weight was 247 and I would imagine the weight loss will slow down after this week but out of curiosity, can anyone tell me how much they lost in the first 4 weeks? Did your weight loss slow after the first or second week? I'm looking forward to solid foods in about a week and a half, that will be a very nice and WELCOME treat!

Any ideas other than shakes or protein soup post op?

by kstarnes77 on 11-01-2013 at 09:03 AM
Just needing a bit of variety even if it doesn't contain protein! Was anyone cleared to try like a banana blended in a smoothie for instance? Or yogurt, other smooth soups that aren't clear broth? I'm dying to know! I had my surgery on Monday so I'm 4 days out and seem to be healing well. My only real painful complaint is this really odd hunger pain that I feel, it feels exactly like deep hunger when you just know your stomach is going to growl sooooo loud in a quiet room, pew, classroom, where

3rd day post surgery and actually feeling good!

by kstarnes77 on 10-31-2013 at 12:59 PM
I now realize why many people do not post their updates on the day of or following surgery, wow it is definitely an adjustment isn't it? I will say thought that the most difficult part of this new post op journey has been finding motivation to drink the required protein.

Since Monday I was NPO and still could not even have a sip of water, I was really ready for those sips of water. I had no problem with drinking 3 ounces of water in an hour period, but I did tire very easily with

Difficulty getting protein and gas pains after surgery

by kstarnes77 on 10-30-2013 at 03:07 PM
It's like this extreme hunger pain that would only feel relieved if my stomach growled. Does that make any sense at all? All in all things have gone well since Monday afternoons surgery. I did have some dry heaving and am finding the protein drinks difficult as in sort of a queasy feeling. I have been trying the chicken soup flavor protein, chocolate dream and now powerade mixed with protein powder. Any other suggestions?

How about the gas pockets? All in my chest area. I've been

Surgery Count Down--4 days away!

by kstarnes77 on 10-24-2013 at 01:47 PM
I have not been blogging and today I decided that I am going to need all of the support I can get. Being so busy in the last few weeks I have not paid much attention to prepping properly, concentrating on the big changes ahead and becoming mentally prepared. I am really excited about the changes that will come with this surgery and I pray I can stay strong and positive and follow through with the plan!

I do equate food with a lot of socializing and use for some emotional comfort
