  1. Hi Kimberly...it went well thank you. Pain was minimal and well controlled with pain meds for 5 days or so. I did have a little "buyers remorse" around the 3 and 4th day but that has gone away. I had some trouble with pain upon swallowing but it worked itself out on day 5 or so. I awoke on day 6 post op and felt human again. I haven't gotten my stamina back yet, feel kinda lazy, and do feel I sit around too much but that may be a little depression setting in. I've only lost about 9 lbs. so far, was 205 on day of surgery and today was 196, but my abdomen is still somewhat swollen (left side) so I know I'm still recovering from the surgery itself. Wednesday will be the start of my 3rd week, follow up with doctor the following week and he should release me to pureed food (for a week) at that time. Kinda getting sick of protein shakes, SF popsicles, fudgesicles (sp?) and water. Have gone out a couple of times and had broth of soup that was on menu, that tasted good...My birthday was the 17th...no cake for me this year...but this was my present for myself really. Its strange though, I thought I wasn't supposed to feel "hungry" but I do have a sensation of hunger sometimes, do you? Let me know how you did and any issues you are having...

Hope all goes well today and you have a speedy recovery.
  5. thanks so much for your post...woke up this morning with a UTI (urinary tract infection) have left message with surgeon's office to see if its ok to go ahead with surgery, he's not in the office until after 2:30 so am waiting to hear back. But I have been very calm up until today, now I am getting a little nervous, wondering if this is the right decision for me..everyone has been supportive but I know they all don't think this is necessary for me. I'm a little afraid of screwing up a pretty great life (except for this weight) and I keep thinking, will I be able to sip, sip, sip for the rest of my life? Will I now have heartburn or reflux for the rest of my life (which I do not have at all now)??? so many questions are going through my mind right now...I need to settle down...
  6. Good Luck as you prepare for your surgery tomorrow! Positive thoughts and prayers for a beautiful sleeving and speedy recovery!

24 Hours Post Op - 3:45 am - still a little scared

by ladyleegal on 08-08-2013 at 02:54 AM
Had my surgery on Tuesday (thanks for all your encouraging notes!) got home this evening, sip, sip, sip, but did get the hunger headache lots of you have mentioned and I am still physically hungry..what's up with that? I'm up at 3:45 because I had some shakiness I guess you would call it. Not in any pain really and they did say if you had the "chills" to call the doctor, but after I got a little bit of fluid in I'm not so shaky and didn't really want to call the doctor at 3:45 (but

Getting a little scared

by ladyleegal on 08-05-2013 at 10:20 AM
I have been looking forward to this surgery for almost 8-9 months, surgery is tomorrow (maybe, I woke up today with a urinary tract infection-waiting to hear back from surgeon if we can proceed or not)...

I have been totally calm and in such anticipation for this surgery but today not so much. Have LOTS of questions swirling around in my head...will I be able to sip, sip, sip for the rest of my life? Will I end up with heartburn or indigestion for the rest of my life when I don't
