Yes I'm nervous, but something that I have to do. I have my doubts more about the unknown after surgery about the pain, getting enough liquid and protein down, succeeding with losing the weight I need to after the surgery and having drinking those nasty protein shakes for the next two weeks after surgery. Feeling better, although I tried cream of broccoli soup today (strained the junk out first) and it has upset me stomach. But I am sure after being on fluids for 3 weeks probably anything will do that. :/

Amy, I am scared tooo but am so tired of being overweight! I figure I have 2 more weeks and then a fresh start! Not sure if I told you but I'm 5'5 216 lbs. My husband and parents are the only people that now and they think I'm "not fat enough" A lady at work is going to get this done too but she has to have 6 months documented weight loss first. I already had that. I'm just afraid I'm going to have to tell people at work and I don't want to. i sent a text to my one friend at work unknowing I was on a "group" text so it went to this other woman at work who has a HUGE mouth and asked yet another person if that was my number and what I meant by "Just two more weeks of being fat and worrying what to wear to work." I know she's going to figure it out since I'll be gone for a week in 2 weeks! This JUST happened and I can't believe it!!!!!!!

Hi gregorygirl, My surgery is on Oct. 21st so we are a week apart. I live in Los Angeles, CA and will be sleeved here. I am personally really nervous about the whole thing and as the date gets closer I have noticed that I am not sleeping as much as I use to.. However, this surgery is the first for me... I have 2 week pre-op diet... so this is my last week with my old bad habits... I am totally ok with that change... since I am aware of the challenges and I am trying to prepare myself for them... For me the fear is really around surgery.. the pain ..complications... all these symptoms many deal with after surgery... dry heaving, gas pain, nausea, unable to drink or eat protein as they should or get in their liquids.... I guess fear of the unknown... I hope you are much more ready for this than I am... Glad to see we will be embarking this journey close togethere... We shall keep in touch as we experience this new journey!!! Best wishes

Are you having surgery today? If you are good luck and follow all the rules.. Walk walk walk as soon as you can and sip sip sip... Water... The gas dissipates quicker if you walk no gas pills will help as it is in between the organs not in them.

Hi Gregorygirl... I am not sure when your surgery date is but as far as being nervous and second guessing your deciosn you are definitely normal We have similar starting weight.. For me being on what others see as the smaller end of the surgery is what has me recently thinking.. oh you dont surgery you can do it all by yourself... Well, thats what I feel many are thinking.... However, who am I kidding If could then I would be there already and I wouldnt have so many health issues... anywho just wanted to tell you its completely normal... but know you have us for support... for me this site is what helps me stay focused...best wishes!
