  1. Thanks, TarotAces!! So happy to hear my blog is helping! The journey is full of ups and downs, but I like to think ups are mental and the downs are the scale. Best wishes to you!!

Just wanted to say thanks for something you wrote in your blog for May 2017. I think I just learned something about myself that is REALLY going to help. Everything you were talking about last month really resonated with me, and hopefully with my future self too. There was one particular sentence that was a new way of seeing something that has been holding me back.

" I am proud of what I can do and I am not focusing on my weaknesses when I exercise." Thanks for this gem. I have added it my 'motivational tool bag'.
  4. Thanks, Christina!! Best wishes on your journey!!!
  5. wow! you look amazing! I am a newbie and starting to worry. I enjoyed reading some of your blogs! True inspiration! Thank you Christina
  6. Hi, Tamera! Thank you so much for your message! And I appreciate your kind words and encouragement! When things like this happen to us, it makes us realize we need to be in control of our health! Glad you found a good doctor! And congrats on week 7! It's quite a journey, but I'm still a firm believer that gastric sleeve surgery was the best thing I've done for myself! Best wishes on your journey! Take care, Jen

Congratulations on your success, you look great. Good Luck with your elimination diet. Sounds like you found a good natural path provider. Unbelievable your doctor let your iron level remain untreated for so long. You will feel ten times better when you get your Iron level in the normal range. I remember getting really sick after a MVA. My Medical Doctor couldn't figure out what was wrong so a friend referred me to this great Natural Path/DO and he figured out what was wrong, turns out my Addreal Glads weren't functioning normal, I developed Addison's disease,I had to go on Hydrocortisone and avoid cetain foods and artificial sweetener. I got much better and now continue to manage my disease with Hydrocortisone and they check blood work every 3-6 mos. Hope you feel better soon. Thank you for the inspiration. I'm week 7 on the 24th. People like you have inspired me to not only have this surgery but follow a healthy diet after my controlled diet of liquids and purée food. Seeing so many before and after pics along with your stories of not moving to becoming runners, hikers, jumping out of airplanes, being able to do the things you want including the simplest task of caring for your foot made me want to be apart of that club, lol. Thank you for being one of those people. Sincerely, Tamera
  8. It's been so long, but I think I just clicked on the Ticker link on the top of the page.

Hi :-) I would really prefer to have a 'pounds lost' ticker instead of a pounds left till goal ticker... How did you get yours/where did you get it? MUCH more inspiring to me

    Thanks for your help!

Live Like a Squirrel

by JLPSch on 04-24-2018 at 02:27 PM
Today I watched a squirrel in my yard and realized it was the perfect analogy to how I need to change: be confident in yourself even when you're not sure. Here's my latest story in my weight loss journey on my blog:

Have You Given Up? This Month's Question

by JLPSch on 02-12-2018 at 12:07 PM
So, January turned out to be the goal accomplishing month I envisioned. I missed my weight loss and writing goals. And you know what...that's OK. I'm back on track.

A very supportive friend asked me "Have you given up?" when I told her of my disappointments. The answer was no! The rest of my tale is on my blog:

It's never too late to get back on track.

Best,

I can't believe it's 2018 already! The last few months were crazy and I am actually glad to be back to a schedule!

2017 was a tough year to keep my healthy lifestyle and it was full of ups and downs. I'm glad to be back on track this year. I've shared my thoughts on my blog:

A Year Without a Turkey Trot

by JLPSch on 11-20-2017 at 10:55 AM
I got the bad news on Friday that I couldn't run my annual Turkey Trot this year due to dental surgery I had. I was so disappointed and at first I wasn't sure why. Then I realized running is part of the "new me." I started running before surgery, but it's been an important part of becoming a healthy person.

Here's what I wrote about it on my blog, Down the Scale:
