Hi! It went great!! I'm beginning my third week post op and I feel great! I've lost 25 pounds including the 11 preoperative so I'm totally happy with my progress! I'm a little confused with the diet because the paperwork says 8 should just be starting pureed but Marie the nut said I should be on soft foods....where are you at with the diet and how are you?

I looked for you too. The time flew by. Everything is good. I feel great as well. I am so glad yours went smooth too. I was on fourth floor at Mi hospital. Fifth floor at Marriott. Loved sitting by their pool. I am having trouble with getting protein in, made 50 yesterday but only 8 additional water ounces. Today it's 2 pm and I've only had 20 and like 4 ounces water. I get a pain in the middle of my back when I drink. Anyway hope you keep feeling great and rock this!

Oops I just saw this message. I must have missed the notification. I agree 100 percent with you. I could have a masters degree from all my forum hours. So consumed by it. I am more nervous planning for my family this week than surgury. It should be quite relaxing actually. Hope we recover well. I will PM my phone number to text at airport. It wasn't a typo. I just thought Tuesday was the 14 th. Silly me I couldn't figure out why you were going so early. Haha. Guess I've lost it already. See you on monday

Hi Vanessa,my husband will be traveling with me. You fly in on Tuesday in the morning or is that a typo? Next Tues seems so far away to me but yeti know it's going to fly by. I feel totally consumed by this surgery it's all I think about. I will be glad when it's over and I'm living it and moving forward but I guess this is part of the process and we are moving forward aalready.

Hi Diane, are you traveling alone? I am going alone because my husband will be home with our four children. I look forward to meeting you there. I fly in on tuesday and arrive at sandiego airport at 430. So excited only 9days left! Today was a good pre op diet day! Yay. Best of luck this next week to you.

It seems like it took forever to get there and now tomorrow is already 2 weeks post op and 16 pounds gone forever! I never had to fill my prescription for pain medication and the diet has been really easy. It is the strangest thing to not even feel hungry or think about food. I had an interesting self reflection when I was making my sons dinner. I was cutting up his pizza and analyzing the fact that usually I would eat a few bites along the way. You really just don't even care about food; which is SO WEIRD! I hope you are able to meet your docs requirements soon and get to start on your journey too.

Sorry, I am still learning this site and did not notice you wrote back. That would be frustrating! My insurance has higher requirements than most, so I did not qualify with them. I ended up making the choice to pay cash. That is why I traveled to Vegas... everything is more expensive in Seattle! I did leave the hospital same day and went back to the resort I was staying at. My post-op appt was on Monday and then I flew home.

well my insurance (bcbs) said that I have to lose 10% of my weight 1st which is so frustrating, I mean if I could lose 26 pounds I would! Anyway I went and talked to my primary who is also a good friend and neighbor of mine and she wrote a prescription for phentermine for me and is going to monitor me closey. I have lost weight pretty easily on this before so I'm hoping it will be the same this time.
Glad to hear everything went well with the exception of the nausea but at least it got better. Make sure to get water down so you don't get dehydrated! Did he keep you in the hospital overnight? He told me that he sends most people home the same day and it kind of concerned me since I live in AZ.

Thank you! When are you anticipating having your surgery? I have to start by saying I am very happy that I travelled out of state to receive care from Dr. Umbach. Overall, I was very happy with the care they provided and how friendly and comfortable they made the whole thing. The day of surgery was crazy how organized they were and had everyone back to back. At no point did I feel rushed though. They really have perfected the way they do this. Mindi roamed around and interacted and checked on everyone before and after surgery. Dr. Umbach came out and personally chatted with my husband following my surgery. I was feeling pretty confident with how I would feel after since I have had two c-sections. Well... if I am being honest Friday & Saturday were rough for me. I did not have pain; which is GREAT!!! However, I was really nauseous and that was miserable. I was dry heaving those first two days anytime I would get up from sleeping or anytime I would drink something. Not bad enough for me to regret my decision, but I will say by day 3 I was already starting to feel better. I still can not get a lot down - no where near what they suggest yet. I am getting like 1 atkins shake down in an entire day. However, I am not craving anything or thinking about hunger.
