Hello family. I need some feedback from the veteran sleevers concerning discomfort in my throat. I’m about 10 days post op and for the most part things are going very well. At my post op doctor’s visit she gave me the all clear to move to soft foods (i.e. refried beans, eggs). The problem I’m having is it feels like the food is getting stuck in my throat when I swallow. I make sure I chew (and chew and chew) but I still get this discomfort. It even happens sometimes when I drink my protein shakes.

The doctor’s office called just before the holiday and gave me the news I’ve been waiting three (seems like forever) month for, my surgery is set for the 18th. Woo Hoo!!! That’s a little over two weeks from today. I’m excited and a little nervous all at the same time. A week prior to the surgery I supposed to go in for a pre-op evaluation/testing. I transition right into giving him updates on work projects. He never asked for any details, he just said let him know what days I’ll be out and he’ll cover for me. He’s pretty cool

Today I got clearance from my respiratory doctor. That was the first time I’ve ever done a breathing test. I didn’t know if I was going to pass out from the extended breathing out or cough up a lung from trying to catch my breath. I guess he was pleased with everything he saw on the X-ray and breathing test, he gave me his blessing and sent me on my way. I also had me second visit with my nutritionist. She set more goals for me to work on until our next and last appointment in next 30 days. Things

I had my first nutritionist appointment yesterday and she told me that I didn’t have to do the pre-op diet because my BMI is less than 50. YES!!!!!
