Hi Jill, good to hear from you and happy to hear you are busy living life!! Me too, I just get on here each morning while I have my coffee, check in and then hit my Facebook, it's my "me hour" then I hit the treadmill, then shower then work. I don't get much time on here, but I can sort of keep up with most this way. I am not losing very fast either, down 66 lbs, but when I stop and think, that it's only been four months "WOW" that is amazing and it is weight I will never allow back in my life, I get so excited for the next 4 months. I have 9 lbs to go to hit 75 lbs off and I have 8 lbs to go to hit Onderland. Then I still have about 50 or 60 lbs before I hit my healthy goal, but I am sure slow and steady is going to "win" this race for all of us. I wish you much speed to your goal and much continued success! Good luck and God Bless through Thanksgiving and the entire Holiday season!!! Keep up the amazing work!!

Sleeved the 29th at Loma Linda Hospital, in Loma Linda, California. Today is my 11th day of "Full Liquids". I have been blessed with no complications, nausea, no hunger etc. I used to be hungry all the time.I have my 2 week Post Op appt. next week. I am so glad I found this site to share and see what and how everyone is doing. I did not realize so many have taken the same path.

I gained 2 lbs at the beginning of this week then lost 5 yesterday. scales and weight fluctuate so much I have promised myself to only weigh once a week from now on and to not worry about it. It took me 44 years to get this way and no matter what I want, it isn't going to come off in a month and 1/2. I will not be a slave to the scale or let effect my mood and my attitude, I am so much stronger than that. He gave me a 2 sided piece of paper with guide lines on it, but then when he talked to us, everything he said contradicted the instructions. I am just sticking to 2 weeks liquid, I will start Purees tomorrow and so that for 2 weeks, then I will add in soft solids for 2 weeks and then I think I can start introducing all foods. I am still going to try hard to limit my sugar and carbs, the sugar is the easy part for me, never was a big fan of sweets, but I have always said if stranded on a desert island and could only have one food for the rest of my life it would be chips and salsa, or Pasta. I am a huge carb fan!!!! Try not to worry so much about leaks, I think you would have to eat a ton to cause a blow out and I am sure we would all be throwing up before we can get close to that point. Best wishes for your continued success.

I am still struggling, I just don't know what if anything I am doing right or wrong, just winging it really. Everyone I have talked to and every doctor and program have different information, so it's hard to know what to follow. I am slowing down my eating, actually measuring 2oz. portions of whatever I eat and I am trying to stay away from anything sugar free because that usually means artificial sweeteners and according to my doctor, artificial sweeteners no matter which ones, promote hunger. I certainly don't want that, I have the hunger pangs all the time anyway. I am doing fine, sticking with it, learning as I go and I am down 33 lbs. as of this morning. So no regrets, just retraining!!! Thanks so much for asking about me. How about you, how are you doing? You are about 1 week out now right??

Hope you are doing as well as or better than me. Mine was done in the 29th and I feel pretty good. Tired, a little nauseous, and had a couple headaches. We are going over to the hotel later today and home in the morning. Good luck and let me know.
  11. Hope you are doing well and recovering well.

Saying a prayer for you this morning. Walk as soon as you can and sip, sip, and sip some more. You are going to feel better every day. BTW, I was scared too, and I cried a lot. My poor anesthesiologist was so kind and kept asking if I was okay, I liked him better than my surgeon you are going to do great!

4 days post-op and doing great!!!

by Sandiegojill on 08-02-2013 at 12:30 PM
Wow, I can't believe that 5 days ago, I was still panicking about whether I was making the right decision or not, and also, I was scared to death.

I had my surgery on Monday. Monday morning went by so fast, it's all a blur now. I went to admitting at 8:30am on Monday, and my surgery was scheduled for 10:30am but was a little late so I was in the O.R. by 11:00. I just remember talking to the anesthesiologist, and the next thing I knew, I was in the recovery room being woken up.

My surgery is paid for so I'm definitely not backing out now

by Sandiegojill on 07-25-2013 at 06:49 PM
Today was my pre-op appointment at the hospital and I just paid for my whole surgery (I'm a self pay), so now I'm not backing out. I'm so scared but somehow I'm just going through all the motions and not stopping. I'm on day 7 of the pre-op diet and it's much easier now that my caffeine headache is gone (2 straight days of it). I keep second guessing everything that I'm doing right now, like I'm making the wrong decision. Anyone else feel this way? I just want it to be over so that I can stop
