Hi There! I haven't heard from you in a while. How are you doing?

By the way, you should update your profile. Show your starting weight so you can brag about your weight loss, and add a picture! What town do you live in? My cousin is in Olathe.

Awesome! What type of diet are you on? I'm on full liquids now. Protein drinks (chocolate "shake", broth), and sugar free jello & popsicles for yumminess. At 2 weeks, I add soft foods, ie., eggs, yogurt, etc. I'm up to 30 gms of protein, and 48 oz of water. Yay! Every day is better and better. Virtually zero gas waves today.

I wonder if the hernia repair is causing the nausea and vomiting. I haven't had either. A little nausea in the hospital but none since I've been home. You're not drinking too much at a time, are you? I've been increasing my water intake each day by about 50%, and I'm up to 5 2oz servings of the protein drink today. I'll add another serving tomorrow. I'm actually really surprised at how well I'm doing. Both me and my husband are surprised. I hope you're feeling better really soon. If you continue with the nausea and vomiting, you should contact the doctor. Best wishes sleeved friend.

Well, I'm awake when I should be sleeping. I just took an Ambien, so hopefully it'll kick in soon. I have to be at the hospital at 6 am for 8 am surgery. Thank you for the wishes; I really appreciate it. I hope all goes well with you as well. Let's keep in touch. We'll need each other for support, and a shoulder to "lean" on.

Hi, my Dr is pretty relaxed about the pre op diet. He asked what I was doing and I said I was on a lo carb diet, but not losing much. He said not to worry about it, just stick to that until 24 hrs before the surgery. Then clear liquids starting 24 hours before, drink mag citrate at 3:00 and 5:00 pm, stay well hydrated then nothing by mouth after dinner. I feel pretty lucky! Thanks for your support and I'm hoping everything goes smoothly for you as well! Stay in touch!

Stinkin' Up the Pre-Op

by Home in Kansas on 05-26-2013 at 01:42 AM
Ok, surgery is in 2 days and I have failed the pre-op diet. In my defense,my daughter graduated, which included a brunch for 200. My husband's company did a lobster bake to which we all sat and ate with bibs on. And last, but not least, my 13 yr old had dance recital which included my in-laws who don't know about the surgery and spent the weekend.

I have stayed away from carbs, but not protein in its original form(I ate real food for one meal a day). I have eaten lots of salad
