I saw you message to a friend of mine and see you have hypothyroidism, like me it is very hard to lose any weight at all.

And I can't eat like everybody else, I eat very little but I don't exercise,

Well, enough of that, you were sleeved 7/14/13, and how is it going, slow, with the throid issues,

my synthroid is 138 mg. and it is still so hard to lose,

Still taking thyroid, and with the sleeve has it helped lose weight faster?

Any tips on what to eat, or how you measure your food?

Am scheduled to be sleeved 1/31/2014, in Tijuana, Mexico, Dr. Osuna at Mi Doctors HOspital.

Any tips for what to take in clothes, money, border issues, how much Gatorade costs, etc.

About the sipping fluids, just after surgery, what is up with that, anymore than a sip will make me sick or too full?

Well I will find out I'm sure.

Am adding you as a friend if that is ok, just inspired that you have thyroid, issue as I do,
All I want to is sleep, I am so ready to get this done now?

I read your 3 mos post-op blog and I'm glad you're doing well! Hope you're re-adjusting to normal foods without any issues. Keep us updated on your successes!! It's a very wonderful kind-of strange feeling when you're open to the huge selection of clothes. The first time I was able to wander in there and search for clothes I felt completely lost and uneasy. You'll be there soon, ENJOY!!!! Wishing you continued success for you and your hubby!!

  14. Early 30's ... But I am a NERD and proud of it. Never got into Ender although I had a neighbor who named her dog Ender. The movie preview looked good though.

Wow! Are you in your late 30's to Mid-40's? Because anyone younger would have to be seriously nerdy to hit all that. I'm kidding. Opinions on the upcoming Enders Game Movie?

Interview went well

by HoneyroastedMelnut on 11-07-2013 at 07:44 PM
My big 3 hour (!) interview went fairly well yesterday. I was nervous about the lunch portion but it went fine. The restaurant had a delicious curry chicken salad sandwich that I could easily just eat the salad portion.
I think I did a good job and hope to hear back in a few weeks. Oddly enough, my husband ended up having a telephone interview when I was my interview. I hope we have to chose between the offers!

Life goes on outside of the sleeve

by HoneyroastedMelnut on 11-03-2013 at 08:56 PM
In 2011, my husband earned a big promotion that required moving to a different state. So we moved. Unfortunately I had to end my career as a Public Health Data Analyst as there really weren't any Public Health jobs in the new town (or data analyst positions either). So I made a career change and became a Help Desk Analyst (a silly recruiter had this idea that an analyst was an analyst). Fast forward to 6 months ago, and my husband's employer had a reduction in force and the Corporate idiots

3 months post-op

by HoneyroastedMelnut on 10-27-2013 at 09:39 AM
I was officially 3 months post-op on the 15th but didn't have my 3 month check up with Memorial Health Bariatics until the 24th. A lot has happened in 3 months! As of this morning I have lost 56 lbs! Absolutely nothing that fit before surgery fits now (I may have a few pairs of socks but I already buy the smallest size socks available). My closet looks very pathetic with more empty hangers than clothes. 3 years ago, I did a major closet purge before a move and threw out virtually everything

Theme park - mixed feelings

by HoneyroastedMelnut on 10-14-2013 at 08:03 PM
On Saturday, I went to Six Flags Over Georgia. I had fun but I have mixed feelings over it. Hands down I fit on every ride I tried to go on. But I barely was able to ride much ... Not that I couldn't fit.

I seemed to be battling my sleeve and food choices. Was going great until lunch. Tackled and thoroughly enjoyed 2 roller coasters. The healthiest lunch option I could find was a chili cheese dog which I ate minus the bun.

We then went on a family ride to make

The inevitable stall

by HoneyroastedMelnut on 10-06-2013 at 08:27 AM
I knew I was due for it. I hit a stall. Last week I lost 5 lbs. This week not an ounce. But hey, I am still down 50 lbs and I didn't gain.

If there was ever a week I expected to stall it would have been this week. For various reasons, I didn't make it to the gym. Was forced to participate in a divisional picnic (healthiest item there was a hotdog) ... Planned to skip it until my supervisor stated I was required to spend my lunch break at the dumb function otherwise I would
