RoxFC great to hear from you and I see Gordita is around still.
You have done brilliantly .. I need to work harder have slacked off.. And do you feel hungry at all because I have been feeling hungry. Can you tell me what a typical days food is for you ? What foods help you and hold you from feeling hungry. I have an omelette for breakfast cheese stick and nuts in the morning I don't drink protein drinks too often as I don't like them.. Too sickly. I have been eating crackers nut thins.. Me thinks too many carbs, I know I still have a tendency to like sweet foods. I have to keep an eye on myself all the time . Great to hear from you you must be looking fantastic.. Keep in touch and I will try to frequent this site more often like I used to.. I need encouragement ..
    Love and best wishes Hev

Hola , I lost the same durn 1.4 lbs again that i've been losing and gaining the past few weeks. putting me squarely back @ 70lbs lost. to the decimal. im ready to move on to the 75lb mark already . i did great on no grazing for longer than a week and then on sat & sundaydidnt track my food; and then on monday stress ate at work. nothign crazy but just popcorn etc. argh!!! anyway, yesterday i started what was essentially my preop diet. shakes for my daily meals and a protein/veggie for small dinner. dont have any time frame set on that; just think it will help reboot me and get me out of cravings mode. day 2 going well. one shake and then sip sip sip water in between. am due for another shake any minute now. hope your week went well. you're sooo close to wonderland. -gordita

i had a gain week last week!!! (ive only had a couple of those in 6months if that tells you how dumb i was eating). totally predictable bc i was just being a little nuts. not following my rules (that's what prompted my 30 day anniversary challenge to myself). anyway-it's a date. i was 237. point somethign this morning. it was 1.4 increase from last wed EEK. ok so we're going to go gangbusters. im also going to try to keep a food diary again , which i haven't been doing.counting protein, estimating calories and tracking my meal times to avoid grazing. sooo much to keep up with but we're going to be very proud of ourselves in 30 days. esp you bc you'll be onderland with pounds to spare!! and i'll be closer to that mythical place myself ; )

What's your checking day w yourself? Mine is we'dnesday. Wanna cheer each other on thru mid February and celebrate our awesome success in 30 days?. I have no guilt if I have carbs or wine or whatever ( within reason ) as long as I'm on three hr sched. Bc if I'm on sched I'm showing some self control. Carbs do NOT stress me though. Weird what everyone's guilt triggers are . Let me know. I'd love an accountability buddy in addition to just generically blogging it , although that helps too.

It's going well, settled down at home with a fire, TV and some pain meds. It is getting better bit by bit, hope to be up and around more by next week.

Visual Depiction of lunch @8 mo post-op..& update!

by RoxFC on 03-26-2014 at 12:19 PM
I'm making this post for all the beginners out there who are worried about eating after VSG. I know in the pre-op and immediate post-op stages that I was pre-occupied with what life would be like once I was further into my life post VSG. When we are stuck drinking gross protein shakes and eating pureed/soft foods, it's easy to get down and feel like things will never be the same. Below is a picture of my lunch today. I ordered a 6" at Subway: turkey, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber,

6 month update

by RoxFC on 01-22-2014 at 12:40 PM
Well, it is exactly 6 months post-op for me today. It has been the best 6 months! I am down 70 lbs since my pre-surgery weight. In addition to the weight loss, I have had numerous NSVs. I no longer shop solely in plus-size stores. I can wear sexy underwear. I fit comfortably in booths, airplane seats, movie theater seats, etc. I can cross my legs. I can wear my hair in a pony tail or bun and not worry that I have a double chin. I don't mind taking pictures and I don't have to maneuver the camera

5 MONTHS POST-OP--ONLY LOST 5 lbs IN THE PAST 3.5 WEEKS!

by RoxFC on 12-17-2013 at 09:07 AM
The holidays are killing me. I'm weak, have little will power, and just LOVE to eat. After all, these are the reasons that I wound up getting the sleeve. It was so easy in the beginning to lose weight. Seriously, our post-op diets are damn near starvation! Of course we're going to lose a ton of weight in a short period of time.

I was on this forum long before my surgery and read every single post so that I would be prepared and know what to expect. I knew the sleeve is a tool and

And the lessons keep on coming...

by RoxFC on 10-11-2013 at 11:54 AM
So...I'm almost 3 months post-op. My surgery was July 22. I've lost about 47-49 lbs. I've been going up and down two pounds for over a week. I haven't posted about it because I know exactly what I'm doing wrong. I have been eating things that I shouldn't eat! There have been a few birthdays at work and I've eaten a little of the bagels, cookies, and cake that have been around me this past week. I'm eating more carbs than usual. I'm grazing. I'm still exercising a lot and I thought that adding

3rd Day Post Op

by RoxFC on 07-25-2013 at 12:43 PM
So...I am on the sleeved side! I feel great at times and other times not so great..mostly because I can't get comfy. I have doing my best with staying hydrated but I have managed to only get in about 8 oz since 6am (it is now 12:30pm). The gas pain is worst yesterday and today. How long does it take to get rid of the gas? I have been walking a lot... I am working on getting in at least 42g of protein. It's so hard! The first 2 days were the hardest. THis is the hardest thing that I have ever done..But,
