I understand about not eating right....I still do it from time to time. Everyone still slips up at times Stephanie. The trick is to get back on the wagon after you fall off. So don't beat yourself up if you happen to eat some stuff that you're not supposed to eat. The next day is a new day and a new opportunity to right the ship. Also, exercise is key....mostly for feeling good. Even though I know I burn some calories through exercise, I don't count it towards calories burned. The amount of calories we all think we burn during exercise is a lot lower than what we've estimated and been told by cardio equipment/apps. But getting that exercise is an invaluable part to getting our head right, our mood right and feeling good about ourselves and improving our strength and even physique. Also, after I work hard and exercise, it's a little easier for me to eat right that day because I've invested an hour of my time and worked hard and sweated....so I don't want to undo that by eating dirty. The exercise can hold you somewhat accountable. If you do happen to eat badly, just start over with a fresh start the next day and try again and keep trying until you develop that habit. Please don't give up. Find a way to motivate yourself and find an exercise, any exercise, that you like and get moving. You got this!

Hello Stephanie! How's the exercise going? Get the bump in the road worked out and losing again?
  6. I am also a very slow loser, but I look so much smaller now than my weight would indicate. I feel wonderful. Your photos show your great success!

  11. I have to do low carb high protein until the day before surgery then the day before is clear liquids
  12. That's great it's coming so fast, do you have to do a liquid diet before surgery?
  13. Its going good so far. I have surgery in a month! I've now eliminated all carbonated beverages! I'm very proud because that's a big step for me! I've also trying to get everything in order for when I have surgery.
  14. Hey, how is your journey going so far?

Trip to Gatlinburg!

by beautiful_life on 08-05-2013 at 07:57 PM
After almost 3 weeks of no weight loss and an actual 5lb gain (went from 271-276) as of last thurs i was back to 272! Went to Gatlinburg, TN this weekend and if you are familiar with it at all you would know it is nothing but places to eat and shop!! Normally a trip like this (just 2 days) I would have gained 7-8lbs. Not this time! I actually lost 5lb from thurs to this morning! I have never been so excited! Now my total is 27lbs since surgery! Hoping this losing with continue!!

post op week 1= can I have a do over??

by beautiful_life on 06-26-2013 at 08:26 PM
Well my week 1 was NOT at all what I was expecting. Everything was going good until post op day 4. I started having nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea for a good 12 hours. Then a fever of 101.8 set in. To the ER I went. Turned out the hospital I was staying at I had been given an intestinal infection called CDiff. I couldn't have any protein or other liquids other than ice chips for 2 days. I was severely dehydrated, weak, and had swelling in my right lower part of the intestines. So after all the fluids
