About LauraJo
- Sleeved or not sleeved:
- I have had a gastric sleeve.
- Biography:
- I must confess. this is a photo from three years ago--back during the time that my Lap Band actually worked. After 2.5 years of struggling with the band and gaining 75 lbs, and throwing up every other meal, I had it removed and replaced with a sleeve. Dreaming, hoping, and working on losing my weight again in order to feel and look like I did in this photo!

I've just completed my first week with my Jawbone Up. If your not familiar with the Up, it's a bracelet that tells gives your bar charts and trends via your iPhone (and other smart phones). The iPhone app tracks your calorie intake and burn rates, your sleep patterns, activity levels, and moods.
Wow, I'm finding that I'm a very active person. I logged in 12,000 steps on the 4th July. and 11,000 most other days. Who knew? I also found that on average, I sleep 7.5 hours a night

Hi everyone, had a three week visit with the surgeon's office last week--got clearance for exercise and my progression to real food this upcoming weekend.
Then I got the pain in my right side. This pain is comparable to when I had gallbladder issues 10 years ago. Now that my gallbladder is gone, they suspected an appendicitis. Here's the replay of my emergency room visit:

So, I've had my first diet don't and learned lesson--thought that I'd share. I'm 3.5 weeks after surgery. I had to go grocery shopping for the family. Mixed a protein drink before leaving and promptly left it on the counter. Mid way through my grocery shopping, I started to feel faint and decided that I needed some protein. So I stopped at the dairy case. The 1% chocolate milk was calling my name. So I picked it up, checked out and went back to my car. Took a couple of sips, proud of myself

I'm 2.5 week's post surgery and having strange pain and spasms in my hips a couple of times per day. The shooting pain lasts less than a minute, but during that time, my hip doesn't feel stable enough to walk it out. Does anyone else have this strange pain or spasm?
May be totally unrelated to surgery, but I'm going to ask the surgeon at my check-up next week.

All, I'm a proud owner of a Frankentummy. I've had several surgeries: Gallbladder (from side to side); Lap band (five small incisions); Lap Band Removal (five small incisions); Tumor Removal (3 small incisions, 2 Large); and Sleeve (4 small and 1 large incision). I look like I was in a knife fight and lost.
Wondering if anyone else suffers from this many incisions and if anyone's had scar revision surgery after their weight loss. Not in any hurry, wanting to lose the weight
