Thank you, it went well but had a couple of rough days in the hospital. I had issues with my blood pressure dropping. Now that I am at home I am feeling better. Keep me posted on your progress.

I have enjoy Dr. Powers and Jimmie. They both have been helpful and made this a positive experience for me. They have spent as much time as needed to answer questions and make me feel comfortable. I am nervous as my surgery is tomorrow.

Skin is something I get asked about a lot. I have been using coconut oil as a moisturizer instead of any other type of lotion and I have been wearing body shapers since almost day one. I think holding the skin in place as you are loosing is incredibly helpful. If nothing else you will keep gravity from pulling on it more. I have an album posted showing the skin I haven't updated recently but I have been so sick I havent had the energy to take pictures . I know the skin issue can be a hard part of this process, I honestly thought at times that I shouldnt have the surgery because if i lost the weight and had all the skin I wouldnt feel better. But the skin has not been that big of an issue at all. I do have some on my inner thighs which will prevent me from wearing a bathing suit for a while but oh well I have noticed for that area stretching helps a lot (like just sitting on the floor and stretching the muscles of your inner thighs). The skin is like every other part of us it has to have time to heal and I think that can be hard to wait for
I hope that helps a little.
Oh and you asked how long after surgery i lost 100 I think it was around 9 months post op but honestly as much as it was a HUGE deal to me at the time I really dont remember lol

    Best wishes.

  6. I actually started raising springers when I was 14 years old. They are my life. I currently have 2. One is the great grand son of my first springer. He now has a very rare form of mouth cancer. He has lived 1 year past his exp date. He is now 10 years old. My other springer is named Pepper and she is my inside 24/7 dog. She is actually allergic to GRASS!! yea thats right. So to make sure she gets her exercise I try to take her for walks. All I want to do is be able to jog with her. I used to come home from work at UPS and jog and then go horseback riding and then work on fences and the farm. I miss my active outdoor life. I moved to VA where I no longer had a farm to live on. So my outdoor activity went away and the pounds started pouring on. I'm now stuck!

Hi Sc - Yes she is an English Springer named Stella. Aren't they such fabulous dogs???!!! I take her out for long walks every day & she is in love with her tennis balls. How many do you have?
My surgery went so well. I went to MX to Dr. Quinones & have had absolutely no problems. At this point I'm just over 3 months out & have lost 45 pounds. Nothing makes me sick, so I'm having to be very careful about what I eat & I seem to have a pretty big capacity compared to some people. But I'm very happy with my results so far & NEVER EVER want to go back to where I was!

Having trouble reaching presurgy weight goal.

by scgrits on 11-05-2013 at 12:34 PM
Ok so I gotta be honest. I'm having trouble losing my 15lb requirement. Since I am an emotional eater, it has been hard for me due to some family issues. I am trying to have my surgery before Jan 1 due to insurance co-pay... My next weigh-in appt is on Nov 27th. I'm not sure if I can lose the 10 lbs left. Any good food and workout plans that anyone could recommend to help boost my loss before my next appt? A few weeks ago I was having second thoughts about the surgery. My hair is the

New to this! Need help.

So I'm just starting out. I'm scheduled for my seminar on May 4th. I'm still trying to get my husband to understand how much this surgery would mean to me. How long did it take for the doc to schedule your surgery? How long did you have to do the diet before the surgery? I could use as much info as I can get.
