I have had a gastric sleeve.

Biography:

My journey started back in August 10, 2009 when I had the Lap-Band procedure. I had nothing but problems with it as well as my weight going up and down. After losing all hope I decided to change doctors. Yes, I changed my general doctor and the weight loss doctor. It just felt that every time I went to see them, it always turned out to be my fault that the Lap-Band was not working. Then in January 2013 I went to see Dr. K in Gleendale, CA. The best decision I ever made. He is a wonderful doctor that explained to me why the Lap-Band was not working for me. I already had a year suffering from severe acid reflex and excruciating back pain. Then as soon as he took out all the fluid from my band the reflex stopped and my back pain got better. He gave me options and suggested the Sleeve. It did not take me long to decide to move forward. I did all the requirements as well as writing a letter to the Insurance Company letting them know all the struggles I was facing with the Lap-Band and for them to consider a revision to the sleeve. Once we submitted everything to the Insurance I was approved in a week. I must have written up a dam good letter. : ) I am just happy I found a great doctor that made this happens.
