Just wanted to say Hi! and see how your doing?
  3. I spoke with an attorney and because the surgical specialist I went too would not confirm or deny anything was done wrong it would be hard to get an attorney to take the case. I just don't have the energy to deal with it at this point. I am getting better but it is taking a lot longer than I thought it would.

Can you sue him for negligence? He removed your stomach correct? There has to be a lawsuit there. At the very least I would speak to a malpractice attourney. Hope your scan goes well. I will continue to pray for you!

    Hello,

I've been reading your blog and praying for you this morning. I'm from Knoxville, TN and had my gastric sleeve on Aug 14th.

I'm messaging because as I was reading through your posts I was thinking that if it is at all possible, one of the top bariatric centers in the US is here in Knoxville.

I don't about your insurance, but I think that the New Life Bariatric Surgery center is among the top ten. Dr. Boyce is a top bariatric surgeon and his partner, Dr. Williams did my surgery. Their telephone number is 865-694-9676. Their website is Bariatric Weight Loss Gastric Bypass Surgery Knoxville East Tennessee (TN) New Life Center

I've also heard that Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville is a specialized bariatric center--the surgeons take on complicated cases.

I think that on the New Life Bariatric website their is an email address- I recommend you send an email with a brief description of what is happening and what the tests have shown concerning the surgery.

    Thank you- Lori Hunter

    Hello,
I am new to the site. I also have FIBRO. my pains are most painful in my chest. Can you tell me if, after your surgery did your chest hurt really bad from the fibro and the infamous gas?

Hi, I was just thinking about you. Did you dr apt go well? Are you feeling any better? Sending prayers and hugs!

Hi I just read your post about complications. They are relatively rare so most people won't have experienced them. However if it helps you feel less weird about it, Luke had a haematoma and has come through the other side doing really well. Have a look at his blog. Hope you feel better soon.

Glad your read the message I was worried about you. Every now and again I try a yoghurt that that is firmer and I feel uncomfortable. Wishing all the best.

If you surgery on the 15 you are best on liquids. NO baby food. Rule of thumb, if it will go up a straw or through the gaps of a fork you can have it.
The feelings your having is the back up of food that is not going down. You DO NOT want to put pressure on the staple line. TWO weeks of fluids.

One year out this Month

by DisneyDee on 05-26-2014 at 05:23 PM
My one year surgery anniversary passed and I was at Disney World.....Yes I went again!!!

I am down to 165 and am totally happy with the way I look. I had originally thought I would like to get to 150 but as I have been losing I think this is where I should be.

I am feeling much better but still not 100%, to where I was before surgery, in strength. I have an appointment later this week to have my vitamin and mineral levels checked. With the weather getting warmer

Almost 10 months from surgery - update

by DisneyDee on 03-08-2014 at 11:53 PM
Hello to my fellow sleevers!! Hope everyone is doing well.

I am doing much better but have been stalled for a few months now. The weather is getting warmer and I am hoping to jumpstart my stall by walking.

I have not been exercising much due to needing my strength for work. After working 8 hours I am usually exhausted. My strength is slowly coming back and I hope by May (my 1 year mark) I will be fully recovered from this surgery.

I am able to

Update on my condition

by DisneyDee on 01-02-2014 at 08:08 PM
WOW it has been a while since I last updated....October.....boy how time flies.

Well I am doing much better and have gone back to work outside my home. I still get tired quickly but am able to work 8 hours a day without too much trouble.

I have lost right at 80 pounds and lots of inches. Even when I do not lose pounds I lose inches as my clothes get looser on me at the same weight.

I am off all the nausea medication except for a rare day here and

Protein Drinks and Food

by DisneyDee on 10-22-2013 at 11:11 AM
I have tried many different protein drinks both powder and liquid and have been unable to drink any of them until now.

I finally found a protein drink that taste good and does not make me nauseated/sick. It is called Bari Life!!! http://www.barilife.com/

I have bought several different flavors and also the hot chocolate mixes all of them have been great. I also have tried the protein bars and the BBQ Chips, which are awesome also.

I know this probably

Losing my Hair

by DisneyDee on 10-16-2013 at 11:38 AM
I have not posted an update in a while. I am doing better but still on nausea medication daily. My hair is falling out by the handful. I am taking multivitamins daily and Biotin and I hope this will eventually help with the hair loss.

I am able to walk around 15 minutes a day now without getting totally worn out. I have not lost any weight but the doctor says that is fine for now. He said that when I get my full strength back and am up and moving around more I will start losing
