    And....how did today go?!?!?!!?!?
  6. Two months out and regretting my decision even more. A new problem has arisen: explosive diarrhea. I know I lost more weight on my own than with the sleeve. In fact, I ate what I wanted and dropped 60lbs in 2 months, avoiding carbohydrates and dropping steadily. After the sleeve, i the same amount of time, I lost only 40lbs, have to restrict what I eat even more (still avoiding bread and other "trouble" foods), and cannot exercise certain ways (weight lifting, etc) as the stomach can rupture. And now? I have this diarrhea thing happening and am terrified to report to work on Monday out of fear of soiling myself, something I never dealt with when losing on my own. I do have hunger pangs, so that was misinformation from the surgeons, and I am tired more than usual. I wish I followed my instinct and did it all naturally. I know there is the fear that old habits come back, but they can ANYWAY, and like most of you, I was at the point of desperation. Like with suicide, they say if you are that desperate, just pick everything up and move somewhere else and start over. Better than death. Well, when desperate enough to lose weight, you can do it without the surgery. So, what have I learned? That if you are medically in need, the surgery is a lifesaver. If you can lose on your own, stick to it as the alternative is permanently altering your physical self and findning out as you go what it will do to you.

You are doing awesome and looking great!!
  11. Four weeks in and moving into solids. Hit and miss as I learn what I can and cannot tolerate. Who knew at 43 you could still have a learning curve? Ha. Off Metformin and did blood work today to determine if I can stop blood pressure and cholesterol medicine as well. Closing in on the 100 pound loss mark. Yippe kai-yay!
  12. Tomorrow marks the third week after surgery, and I must admit, the recovery goes exceedingly well. I am sticking to the shakes until I can devise a way to get 80 grams of protein in without them. I am enjoying one regular meal a day and can eat 5 ounces or even 6 as per the doc's authorization. I find satiation at that point. Water intake goes on all day, sipping away at 4 - 6 ounces every hour, trying to get that 64oz in daily. Now if only I could sleep. Ha. Oh well, the energy boost causes less sleep along with the sleeping problem I had prior to surgery. At least I am catching up on some good shows and books. I looked at the calendar and realized I still have another 5 weeks until next semester, so it will be eating and exercising until I am as strong as I can be for the new challenges next year will inevitably bring. I'll be busier than the glue that works so hard to hold Donald Trump's hairpiece in place and work as hard as the bandanna that hides Brett Michaels baldness!

How is the recovery going? Did you ever try the coconut water? I'm finding I want some more, although town is an hour round-trip. Want some, but not that bad!

Bene-fats Of Being Obese!!!

by WeaponofMassInstruction on 10-17-2013 at 11:22 PM
Look, we ALL deal with the negatives our ample frames create for us and opine the additional pounds and the things they preclude we cannot do. However, I would like to celebrate the OPPOSITE. There are numerous advantages to being fat, folks. So if you cannot reach your goal and still rock some chub rub or sport some "moobs" (man boobs), here's to you!

1. Fat people are HARD to kidnap!!!
2. If you hate sports, you will never be picked to play on anyone's team anyway!

The Skin I'm In

by WeaponofMassInstruction on 10-17-2013 at 10:00 PM
I have decided when I make goal to get a tattoo of a Phoenix as a reminder that we can be reborn again and again. My biggest concern is that the skin may continue to droop (it hasn't happened yet with 130 lbs off) AND the weight loss will continue and cause the image to warp. Soooo... at what point, maybe percentage wise, did you notice sagging skin (if at all) and how long after surgery did you reach the weight where you could not lose more?
